    摘要: A method and system for detecting unsafe or suspect activities such as distracted driving associates distracted driving events to the road type, vehicle speed and vehicle acceleration (positive, negative and lateral) at the time of the distracted driving event, and identifies severe distracted driving events from a large population of minor events using a statistical distribution such as a Cauchy distribution equation. The system employs a smartphone application (App) coupled with a central server that computes driver safety scores which relate time of day, road type, vehicle speed, vehicle acceleration (positive, negative and lateral) and distracted driving using the Cauchy distribution equation. The server renders summary and detail reports of driving scores and distracted driving events to concerned parties including insurance companies, fleet managers, vehicle owners and the parents/guardians of teenaged drivers.

The data logger includes speed limits for highway and local streets. The data logger includes an algorithm estimating whether the vehicle is being operated on a highway or local street. An alert status is determined when the corresponding speed limit is exceeded. Alert information is recorded for later display and review by the parent or supervisor.

    摘要: A vehicular data recording apparatus includes crash detection portion (12) for detecting a crash of a vehicle, and recording process portion (14) for recording and retaining output data of various vehicle-mounted sensors (20, 30, 40, 50) mounted in the vehicle, in a non-volatile memory (70). If a crash is detected by the crash detection portion (12), a data recording/retaining process relevant to the crash is performed by the recording process portion. If a plurality of crashes different in the crash form are detected continually in a short time by the crash detection portion, the recording process portion performs the data recording/retaining process relevant to each crash in accordance with a predetermined order of priority based on the crash form of each crash.
