摘要: An inspection apparatus for inspecting an inspection target object, includes an X-ray generation tube having a target including an X ray generation portion that generates X-rays by irradiation with an electron beam, and configured to emit X-rays to an inspection target surface of the inspection target object, an X-ray detector configured to detect X-rays emitted from a foreign substance existing on the inspection target surface irradiated with the X-rays from the X ray generation portion and totally reflected by the inspection target surface, and an adjustment mechanism configured to adjust a relative position between the inspection target surface and the X-ray detector.

摘要: Through-tubing, cased-hole sealed material density can be evaluated using gamma ray measurements. Density evaluation comprises detecting, by at least one detector positioned within a casing of a wellbore including a sealing material positioned between the casing and a subsurface formation, electromagnetic radiation generated in response to nuclear radiation being emitted outward toward the subsurface formation, determining an electromagnetic radiation count based on the detected electromagnetic radiation, selecting at least one of a first reference material having a density that is less than a density of the sealing material and a second reference material having a density that is greater than the density of the sealing material, adjusting the electromagnetic radiation count based on the density of the at least one of the first reference material and the second reference material, and determining a density of the sealing material based on the adjusted electromagnetic radiation count.

摘要: A portable uranium analyzer employs a neutron source and a neutron detector for carrying out an uranium assay along the surface of the earth and a gamma ray detector for carrying out a natural gamma radiation assay along the surface of the earth. The neutron source irradiates the underlying earth formation along an exploration line in either a continuous scan mode or in a plurality of fixed assay points. Prompt or delayed neutrons resulting from neutron fission of any uranium present in the formation are detected and recorded during assaying. The uranium assay and the natural gamma radiation assay are correlated to identify formations suspected of containing uranium.

摘要: The ash content of a granular coal sample having a moisture content greater than 10% by weight is sensed by bombarding it with primary radiation comprising at least two spectrums of energies (46 KeV and 9-17 KeV) to cause radiative reactions in the coal, sensing the secondary radiation generated by the radiative reactions caused by one of the two spectrums of energies (46 KeV), sensing the secondary radiations at a characteristic fluorescent energy of at least one element (e.g. iron) in the coal sample, the characteristic fluorescent energy being excited by the other of the two spectrums of energies (9-17 KeV), and using the sensed secondary radiations to determine the ash content of the coal.

摘要: Method and apparatus for material analysis in which X-rays generated pursuant to incidence of an electron beam on the material are detected by a detector which generates signals representative of X-ray intensity. A first single analyzer is connected to receive the signals from the detector and to pass to an associated first counter a count signal whenever the signal applied to the first single channel analyzer is representative of an X-ray energy within a relatively narrow range of such energies. A second single channel analyzer is also connected to receive the signals from the detector and to pass to an associated second counter a count signal whenever the signal applied to the second analyzer is representative of an X-ray energy falling within a much broader range of such energies than the first mentioned range. The first and second counters accumulate the count signals applied thereto. The count in the second counter is compared by a comparator with a pre-established count in a third counter and when the count in the second counter assumes the same value as the count in the third counter the counts in the first and second counters are held. The so held count in the first counter then itself represents a normalized ratio of X-ray energy within the narrow range to the X-ray energy for the energy spectrum represented by the broad range of energies. On the basis of this normalized ratio information as to the makeup of the material can be derived.

摘要: An optical inspection is performed to detect potential defects within integrated circuit devices and a first electron-based inspection of less than all of the potential defects is performed to identify primary actual defects. A process window of manufacturing parameter settings used to manufacture the integrated circuit devices is identified and the integrated circuit devices manufactured using the manufacturing parameter settings inside the process window have less than a threshold number of the primary actual defects. To identify additional actual defects a second electron-based inspection is performed that is limited to selected ones of the potential defects in the integrated circuit devices that were manufactured using the manufacturing parameter settings inside the process window but were uninspected in the first electron-based inspection.

The present invention is a pattern measurement device for measuring distances between patterns formed in a sample, wherein the centroids of a plurality of patterns included in an image are determined; the inter-centroid distances, and the like, of the plurality of centroids are determined; and on the basis of the inter-centroid distances, and the like, of the plurality of centroids, a pattern meeting a specific condition is distinguished from patterns different from the pattern meeting the specific condition or information is calculated about the number of the patterns meeting the specific condition, the size of an area including the patterns meeting the specific condition, and the number of imaginary lines between the patterns meeting the specific condition.

The air slide analyzer has an analyzer having an entrance opening and an exit opening, and an interior tunnel adapted for aerated material conveyed by an air slide; a radiation detector proximal to the analyzer; a neutron source emitting neutrons into material within the analyzer; and a processor to analyze detected information from the radiation detector, wherein emissions from the material being irradiated with neutrons are detected by the radiation detector and analyzed by the processor to provide elemental information of the material in the analyzer.
