摘要: Reusable network of spatially-multiplexed microfluidic channels each including an inlet, an outlet, and a cuvette in-between. Individual channels may operationally share a main or common output channel defining the network output and optionally leading to a disposable storage volume. Alternatively, multiple channels are structured to individually lead to the storage volume. An individual cuvette is dimensioned to substantially prevent the formation of air-bubbles during the fluid sample flow through the cuvette and, therefore, to be fully filled and fully emptied. The overall channel network is configured to spatially lock the fluidic sample by pressing such sample with a second fluid against a closed to substantially immobilize it to prevent drifting due to the change in ambient conditions during the measurement. Thereafter, the fluidic sample is flushed through the now-opened valve with continually-applied pressure of the second fluid. System and method for photometric measurements of multiple fluid samples employing such network of channels.

摘要: A high-throughput automatic analyzer integrates a biochemical analysis section and a blood coagulation analysis section. The analyzer is capable of achieving a reduction in size, system cost, and lifecycle cost. The automatic analyzer includes: a reaction disk; a first reagent dispensing mechanism that dispenses a reagent to reaction cells on the reaction disk; a photometer that irradiates a reaction solution in the reaction cell with light; a reaction cell cleaning mechanism; a reaction vessel supply unit that supplies a disposable reaction vessel for mixing and reacting a sample and a reagent with each other; a second reagent dispensing mechanism that dispenses a reagent to the disposable reaction vessel; a blood coagulation time measuring section that irradiates a reaction solution in the disposable reaction vessel with light to detect transmitted or scattered light; and a sample dispensing mechanism that dispenses a sample to the reaction cell and the disposable reaction vessel.

摘要: We disclose a device and method for collecting a urine sample as a user urinates into a toilet. The device further conducts analytical measurements which may include spectral, colorimetric, and chemical assays. The user need only urinate normally into the toilet. A urine collection trap, which includes a vertical slit, may capture a urine sample which has a volume in the microliter range. Pumps may divert the urine from the vertical slit into a conduit that is connected to spectral analysis devices and other devices for analyzing the urine sample. The disclosed device is both convenient and prevents unsanitary urine spills.

A light guide is provided to receive light from an external light source and is to serially transmit the light to the microfluidic channel of each of the plurality of testing cells.

摘要: The present invention discloses an apparatus and a method for measuring components in fluidic samples in a non-invasive fashion using Infrared (IR) transmission spectroscopy. Fluidic samples are sealed in flexible IR-transparent bags that are then fixed on a supporting bed. The supporting bed is then mounted between the front and back plates of the apparatus so that the bag is squeezed by two IR transparent windows from opposite directions until the windows contact the spacer sheet mounted on the back plate. The thickness of the spacer sets the gap distance between the two windows and thereby sets the optical path for the measurement in the transmissive mode.

摘要: The invention relates to a sensing device for sensing a fluid. The sensing device comprises an inlet port (20) for receiving the fluid (100) and a measurement chamber (25) for sensing the fluid (100). The sensing device further comprises a fluid channel (30) coupling the inlet port (20) and the measurement chamber (25) for transporting the fluid (100) from the inlet port (20) to the measurement chamber (25) and a fluid stop unit (50) for stopping and controllably releasing the flow of fluid between the inlet port (20) and the measurement chamber (25). This allows stopping the fluid before reaching the measurement chamber (25) and controllably releasing the fluid for allowing the fluid to flow into the measurement chamber (25), if the sensing device is ready for analyzing the fluid.
