Abstract: A strain measuring system includes a piezoelectric element and a resistor provided on an object. The system also includes a resistance detection circuit to detect a change in resistance of the resistor, and a piezoelectric effect detection circuit to detect a piezoelectric effect of the piezoelectric element. A strain calculation circuit detects a strain changing time while the strain of the object is changing using a detection result from the piezoelectric effect detection circuit, calculates a change in resistance of the resistor during the strain changing time, and calculates a degree of strain of the object using a calculation result of the change in resistance.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method for force sensing, and an electronic device. The apparatus includes at least one first sensor, at least one second sensor, and a comparator. The at least one first sensor generates a first signal, the at least one second sensor generates a second signal, and the comparator receives both the first signal and the second signal. The first signal is determined by deformation of a deformable portion and temperature at the deformable portion, and the second signal is determined by the temperature at the deformable portion. The comparator determines whether the deformable portion deforms based on the first signal, the second signal, and the threshold signal, and further generates the third signal which is in the active state in response to the determination being positive. The apparatus can make an accurate response when the deformation of the deformable portion serves as an input operation.

Abstract: A method determines a thrust force of an aircraft engine that is attached to an aircraft by a force transferring element having a strain gauge for determining its strain state and a temperature sensor for measuring a surface temperature of the force transferring element adjacent to the strain gauge. The method includes: determining the surface temperature; determining a strain of the force transferring element; determining the strain state of the force transferring element based on the determined strain and compensating for temperature effects by taking into account the surface temperature, the compensation of the temperature effects taking into account both static and transient influences; and calculating the thrust force of the aircraft engine from the determined strain state.

Abstract: A pressure sensor assembly for use in sensing a pressure of a process fluid in a high temperature environment includes an elongate sensor housing configured to be exposed to the process fluid and having a cavity formed therein. A pressure sensor is positioned in the cavity of the elongate sensor housing. The pressure sensor has at least one diaphragm that deflects in response to applied pressure and includes an electrical component having an electrical property which changes as a function of deflection of the at least one diaphragm which is indicative of applied pressure. A flexible membrane in contact with the at least one diaphragm is disposed to seal at least a portion of the cavity of the sensor housing from the process fluid and flexes in response to pressure applied by the process fluid to thereby cause deflection of the at least one diaphragm.

Abstract: An electronic device may have a flexible display such as an organic light-emitting diode display. A strain sensing resistor may be formed on a bent tail portion of the flexible display to gather strain measurements. Resistance measurement circuitry in a display driver integrated circuit may make resistance measurements on the strain sensing resistor and a temperature compensation resistor to measure strain. A crack detection line may be formed from an elongated pair of traces that are coupled at their ends to form a loop. The crack detection line may run along a peripheral edge of the flexible display. Crack detection circuitry may monitor the resistance of the crack detection line to detect cracks. The crack detection circuitry may include switches that adjust the length of the crack detection line and thereby allow resistances to be measured for different segments of the line.

Abstract: An array substrate, a touch display panel, and a touch display device are provided. The array substrate includes a plurality of pressure sensors.
