    摘要: A distribution device for distributing volatile fluids in air. In an exemplary embodiment, the distribution device includes a wick formed of a solid material which is impregnated with a volatile fluid, such as a scented liquid, a disinfectant, a fungicide, an anti-allergenic substance, an insect repellant, or an insecticide, for example. In another embodiment, the device includes a substantially hollow, tubular shaped wick which includes a portion that is exposed to the surrounding environment and a portion that is in liquid communication with a liquid reservoir containing a volatile fluid. The wick is positioned in the liquid reservoir and in a close fitting engagement with an open end of the liquid reservoir. The hollow configuration of the wick provides a greater exposed surface area to enhance the evaporation of the liquid into the surrounding environment.

In accordance with one exemplary embodiment of the present invention, the device may include a switch that suitably allows the temperature of various types of heating elements to be controlled for different levels of fragrance output. For example, an exemplary embodiment may include a two-pronged plug adaptable to typical outlets that might be found in residential homes or businesses. In accordance with another exemplary embodiment of the present invention, the electrical switch generally provides varying resistance values to the electric circuitry of the vaporizer such that, by changing the switch setting, the operating temperature of the wick is controlled and thus the rate of fragrance evaporation from the vaporizer.

    摘要: A waterless vaporizer has a casing containing a heating module that causes vapors to be emitted from a refill pad that is impregnated with menthol and eucalyptus oil by slightly heating the pad and producing a thermally induced convective air flow through the pad. A top member of a casing has a planar pad-receiving surface with holes in it on which the pad can be placed in any selected position between a "low" output and a "high" output position on the surface. A pivotable and vertically displaceable chimney member fits over the pad. The chimney member has a pad retainer/holder portion, the top wall of which provides an alternative position for the pad. A power switch and an indicator lamp facilitate use of the vaporizer. All electrical components are highly durable and fully insulated. The vaporizer is assembled without any screws or equivalent fasteners.

    摘要: There is provided a humidifier control system including a water reservoir having a top opening. A pair of wicking pads extend into the reservoir and around a tube which extends over the top opening. An electrical heating element is received inside the tube. First and second spaced apart moisture sensor elements are attached to the tube and are in contact with the wicking pads. The sensor elements conduct electricity in the presence of moisture on the wicking pads and do not conduct electricity in the absence of moisture on the wicking pads. The sensor elements are attached to an electrical circuit which includes a switch and an alarm. When there is moisture on the wicking pads, the switch is on and normal current flows through the heating element and the switch. When there is not moisture on the wicking pads, the switch is turned off and the current through the heating element is reduced to a minimal level, and the alarm is turned on.
