The connecting member includes, a plural number of connection cords connecting the discharging lamp and the discharging lamp unit, wherein one of the connection cords is a high voltage cord to which a high voltage is applied, a protecting tube covering the high voltage cord, and a cylindrical member being conductive and flexible wherein the cylindrical member covers the protecting tube as well as covers connection cords which are not covered with the protecting tube.

    摘要： A motor vehicle headlamp has a discharge lamp, a reflector and a smooth or nearly smooth cover lens, the reflector being adapted to generate a beam below a cut-off line. At least two masks are associated with the discharge lamp, and define two shadow zones on the reflector; the reflector includes at least two reflective zones for forming portions of the beam below the cut-off line, with different amounts of sideways spreading of the light; and these zones of the reflector are separated by generally radial transition planes, at least some of which extend into the shadow zones. A particular application is to enable wide cruising beams to be produced to European standards without any optical anomalies.

    摘要： A vehicle headlamp is provided including a parabolic reflector, a high intensity discharge bulb mounted with the reflector having a main arc located generally at a focal point, and a lens for focusing the bulb having a vertical and a horizontal axis intersecting the reflector axis. The reflector has a maximum horizontal dimension W made up of a left width WL and a right width WR. There is a two-part zone 1 bordered on the bottom by the horizontal axis of the lens and bordered on the top by the top of the lens as long as the top of the lens is 60 millimeters or less from the horizontal axis. The zone 1 is bordered on the right side by a line extending a distance RT from the vertical axis going down to a distance RB taken from the vertical axis, and RT equals 1/4 WR and RB equals 3/4 WR. In like manner, the left side of zone 1 is bordered on the top at a distance LT from the vertical axis and a distance LB along the horizontal axis from the vertical axis, and LT equals 1/4 WL and LB equals 3/4 WL. The lens projects a hot spot test point one (0.5 d, 1.5 r) and at a hot spot test point two (1.5 d, 2 r) approximating at least 90 percent of the light at test point one and at least 70 percent of the light at point two from zone 1.

    摘要： A paraboloidal effective reflecting surface of a reflector is divided into an upper effective reflecting surface for forming a preset pattern of the low beam and a lower effective reflecting surface for forming a preset pattern for supplementing the pattern. First shades for forming clear cutting lines of the low beams is disposed close to an arc tube as a light source. The glare caused by the reflection of light on the upper effective reflecting surface is reduced. The resultant clear cutting lines are sharp. The second shades, which are provided outside the first shades, cut the light beams that pass above the first shades and direct to the partition lines (stepped parts). As a result, no glare is caused by the reflection of light at the partition lines.
