Abstract: A method for manufacturing a terminal-equipped electric wire includes a step of crimping a terminal to one end of an electric wire, a step of crimping another terminal to the other end of the electric wire, and a waterproofing step of providing a sealing member at the other end of the electric wire so as to fill gaps between conductive element wires of an element wire bundle. The waterproofing step includes, in this order, a step of applying a resin to the element wire bundle to block at least a part of an inner portion of a tubular insulating sheath, a step of waiting during curing of the resin or until the curing is completed, and a step of applying the moisture curable resin to the element wire bundle, blocking a remaining portion of the inner portion of the insulating sheath, and curing the resin.

Abstract: While laying a subsea cable, an exposed cut off end of the cable is exposed to water prior to permanently sealing off this cable end. To prevent damage to the cable due to contact with the often salt water, due to for example oxidation, a temporarily watertight seal is to be applied to the cut off end. A method for applying this seal is provided which comprises applying a mouldable sealant to the exposed end wherein the sealant acts as a watertight barrier between the water and the cut off end of the cable. The sealant may comprise an intermediate layer between the cut off end and a watertight outer layer arranged to increase adhesion between the cut off end and the outer layer. This allows a broader range of outer layer materials to be used as the outer layer material does not need to adhere directly with the cable.

Abstract: An electrical cable for use as a substitute for mineral-insulated cables in nuclear facilities is described herein. The cable may include at least one conductor, insulation, a jacket, and an armor shell. In some embodiments, the conductor may comprise a stranded conductor of one of various grades. The insulation may comprise phlogopite or muscovite mica tape that may be helically or longitudinally applied in overlapping concentric layers around at least one conductor. The jacket may comprise a woven glass braid applied over insulation surrounding one or multiple conductors. The armor may comprise hermitically sealed metallic armor applied around the other components of the cable, thereby forming an exterior of the cable. The inorganic materials utilized may be configured to limit the creation of adverse and/or undesirable elements instigated by transmutation from neutron irradiation exposure.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to integrated modular display panels. In one embodiment, modular display panel includes a shell with a first thermally conductive material, a printed circuit board disposed in the shell, and a plurality of LEDs attached to a first side of the printed circuit board. A driver circuit is disposed in the shell and coupled to the plurality of LEDs from a second side of the printed circuit board. The panel further includes a power supply unit for powering the LEDs. The printed circuit board are disposed between the power supply unit and the plurality of LEDs. A second thermally conductive material is disposed between the power supply unit and an outer back side of the panel. A protective structure is disposed over the first side of the printed circuit board, where a display side of the panel, opposite the outer back side, is waterproof.
