    摘要: A paraboloidal effective reflecting surface of a reflector is divided into an upper effective reflecting surface for forming a preset pattern of the low beam and a lower effective reflecting surface for forming a preset pattern for supplementing the pattern. First shades for forming clear cutting lines of the low beams is disposed close to an arc tube as a light source. The glare caused by the reflection of light on the upper effective reflecting surface is reduced. The resultant clear cutting lines are sharp. The second shades, which are provided outside the first shades, cut the light beams that pass above the first shades and direct to the partition lines (stepped parts). As a result, no glare is caused by the reflection of light at the partition lines.

    摘要: A vehicular headlamp that provides near-ultraviolet illumination of desired areas but which assures that sufficient brightness can be obtained in areas illuminated with visible light without having to combine the lamp with another type of headlamp. The headlamp includes a light-emitting unit accommodated in a lamp housing including a substantially parabolic reflector, a discharge bulb mounted inside the reflector to generate both visible light components and ultraviolet rays, and a light-emitting lens disposed in front of the reflector to irradiate the light reflected from the reflector in the forward direction. In addition, a bandpass filter adapted to absorptively remove visible light components and permit at least near-ultraviolet rays to pass therethrough is disposed in a light path other than the light path for the low-beam light conducted to the light emitting lens from the reflector so that a low-beam illuminating area is illuminated by both visible light components and near-ultraviolet rays to maintain sufficient brightness in the foregoing region. On the other hand, an illuminating area located above a clear cut line is illuminated mainly by the near-ultraviolet rays.

    摘要: A high voltage electric-discharge lamp is used as a light source of a headlight device for use in an automobile vehicle. Light from the discharge lamp is reflected on the curved surface of a reflector disposed at a back side of the discharge lamp, and projected forward. To reduce high frequency electromagnetic noises emitted forward from the device, which interfere with radios and televisions mounted on a vehicle driven ahead, a shade to intercept light emitted directly forward from the discharge lamp is disposed in front of the discharge lamp, and the shade is grounded. To further enhance noise reduction effects, a second grounding passage is provided. The second grounding passage is formed by grounding terminals attached to the shade and a wire connecting the terminals to the ground. Other components constituting the headlight device may be also grounded to secure a higher shielding effect. The electromagnetic noises interfering with radios and televisions mounted on a vehicle driving ahead are sufficiently reduced to a harmless level.
