    Abstract: A rotary vessel for a filter assembly has a rotor body rotatable about an axis of rotation and a spigot with a non-circular cross-section and integral with or coupled to the rotor body. The spigot extends away from the rotor body along the axis of rotation and engages with a bearing. The spigot facilitates transfer of rotary motion between the rotor body and the bearing. A filter assembly has a housing with a main body and a closure member separably attachable to the main body. The rotary vessel is disposed inside the housing. The closure member retains the rotary vessel inside the housing and is separable from the main body to permit removal of the rotary vessel from the housing. The spigot integral with or coupled to the rotor vessel engages with a bearing of the filter assembly to rotatably support the rotary vessel in the housing.

    Abstract: This invention provides an oil pan for internal combustion engine having an intensified stiffness and capable of suppressing vibration and radiating sound and of light weight achieved by reducing the quantity of components. More specifically, this invention provides an oil pan for internal combustion engine comprising an upper portion to be attached to the bottom portion of a cylinder block directly or through an adaptor plate and a lower portion provided on the bottom of the upper portion, in which a baffle plate is formed integrally downward of the upper portion and an oil supplying means for sucking the oil accumulated in the lower portion by sucking portion 5b and supplying sucked oil to respective portions of the internal combustion engine is provided, wherein the upper portion is constituted of side walls connecting the cylinder block with the lower portion and the baffle plate, the baffle plate is comprised of the sucking portion of the oil supplying means provided substantially in the center and an inclined portion which is inclined downward toward the side wall with the sucking portion as its vertex, and communicating opening portions are formed near the side walls of the inclined portion to communicate the cylinder block with the lower portion.

    Abstract: In an oil pump inlet screen assembly adapted to be immersed in an oil sump and comprising a filter screen including a housing and a lift pipe adapted to be inserted at one end into an oil pump opening, the improvement wherein the housing and lift pipe are molded integrally of plastic material, and wherein the screen assembly further comprises a metal eyelet received over the pipe end and adapted to be press-fitted into the pump opening. The eyelet includes coaxial cylindrical portions respectively disposed internally and externally of the pipe end and an external flanged end portion which captures a circumferential rib on the outside of the pipe both to retain the eyelet on the pipe end and to function as a stop to limit press-fit insertion of the pipe end into the pump opening.
