    摘要: A lockout system for an aircraft having a rotor assembly. The lockout system includes a drive shaft coupled to and rotatable with the rotor assembly, a nonrotating airframe structure disposed proximate the drive shaft and a lock assembly having first and second lock members. The first lock member is rotatable with the drive shaft and includes a plurality of bearing assemblies. The second lock member is coupled to the nonrotating airframe structure and includes a cradle having a plurality of asymmetric slots each with a leading ramp and a trailing stop. The lock assembly has a disengaged position in which rotation of the drive shaft is allowed and an engaged position in which each of the bearing assemblies is seated within one of the asymmetric slots to prevent rotation of the drive shaft. The lock assembly is actuatable between the engaged and disengaged positions.

    摘要: In a stopping device for a shaft, which acts in all three dimensions and is unaffected by large accelerations, a gear on the shaft of an engine is stopped by a locking pawl which engages the gear when the electromagnet is not excited. A magnetic field generated by the passage of current through a coil produces a torque which turns the rotating armature against the force of a spring in such a way that the locking pawl is moved radially outward around the gear and over a guide pin on the rotating armature which can be moved in a guide slot of the locking pawl, and thereby releases the gear and hence the shaft.

    摘要: A rotatable shaft (40) of a machine tool is clamped by an apparatus which stops rotation and locks the shaft (40) against movement. This apparatus may be applied to lock the shaft (40) of a rotary-type truing mechanism or dresser (10) which includes a diamond-impregnated roller (11) for dressing a grinding wheel (12). The hydraulic brake assembly (57) is comprised of a circular split-brake collar (58) having angularly disposed or tapered end portions (63) which are confined by a locking plunger (61) having complementarily angled end portions (62). The plunger (61) is advanced by hydraulic fluid which compresses the brake collar (58) around the shaft (40) to form a friction brake to stop and lock the rotation of the shaft (40). A light truing pass may then be made across the face of the grinding wheel (12) to perform a fine finishing operation. Thereafter, the plunger (61) is retracted by spring forces when the fluid pressure is released, and the brake collar (58) is opened to allow rotation of the shaft (40) to be resumed.

    摘要: The spindle to which an armature is chucked is driven by a drive shaft stopped at plural different predetermined positions by the engagement of stop dogs with cams mounted thereon. In one embodiment there are four cams mounted on the drive shaft for stopping the drive shaft at any one of four positions for winding armatures having two coils per slot. The angular positions of the four cams are pre-adjustable on the drive shaft whereby the predetermined stopped positions thereof can be changed to accommodate different types of armatures and different patterns of wind. Two of the cams are adjustably connected by a sleeve having gear teeth meshing with gear teeth relatively fixed to one of the cams and an eccentric connection to the other of the cams. These cams are rotatable relative to other cams and locked in adjusted positions by pins projecting through apertures therein. The apertures are appropriately marked in terms of the types of armatures and winding patterns. Two other embodiments of relatively adjustable cams are illustrated. In one embodiment, cams have radially directed slots, portions of which are aligned to obtain the desired angular relation between them. In a further embodiment cams are connected by eccentric pin means used to obtain the desired relative angular positions. In still another embodiment, only two relatively adjustable cams are used, but with four stop dogs, two of which are angularly adjustable. The operation of the armature rotating mechanism is described for the winding of both one and two coil per slot armatures. In all embodiments only two of the dogs are used for stopping the armature at predetermined positions for winding armatures having only one coil per slot.
