    摘要: A sun tracking solar energy collection system can include torque tubes formed with a plurality of rotatable shafts connected to each other in an end to end fashion. The ends of the shafts can be connected with coupling devices in the form of an integrated coupling flange and mounting devices. The coupling flange can include a mounting surface that extends generally parallel to the axis of rotation of the shaft. Additionally, the coupling flange can include a coupling face that extends generally perpendicular to the axis of rotation, so as to provide a mating face for an adjacent coupling flange to transmit torque from one shaft to another. The mounting flanges can be used to support devices such as solar energy collection devices including photovoltaic modules or other devices.

    摘要: An end-to-end tubular joint includes first locking pieces cut from the first tube and second locking pieces cut from the second tube, where the cuts have radial cut faces on the axially aligned cuts. The first and second locking pieces are interlocked with lateral extensions of the respective locking pieces bearing against one another and the radial cut surfaces distributed circumferentially around the joint so as to constrain relative movement between the parts. The first locking pieces are welded to the first tube and the second locking pieces are welded to the second tube to form a tube joint. An alternative forms cutouts in the first tube and fits locking pieces into the cutouts that are welded to a second member, such as a second tube or cylinder that fits into the first tube so as to form the tube joint.

    摘要: A driveline assembly for rotatably interconnecting a first power transmission device to a second power transmission device includes a propeller shaft, an adapter plate, a stub shaft and a constant velocity joint. The propeller shaft has a first end coupled to the adapter plate and a second end adapted to be drivingly coupled to the first power transmission device. The stub shaft includes a substantially cylindrical rod having a first end and a second end. The stub shaft further includes a flange radially extending from the first end of the rod wherein the flange is coupled to the adapter plate. The constant velocity joint is slidingly engaged and rotatably coupled to the second end of the stub shaft and the constant velocity joint is adapted to be coupled to the second power transmission device.

    摘要: A torque joint for transmission of force in both longitudinal and circumferential direction about thin-wall tubular torque tubes is provided by overlapping an inner one of said tubes and an outer one of said tubes, inserting a mandrel having longitudinal and circumferential slots therein, applying a deformation force for pressing the tubular members into the slots of the mandrels, and extracting at least a portion of the mandrel to provide the torque joint. In the case wherein two open-ended tubular members are employed, two mandrel elements of the same form are utilized, the two mandrel elements being withdrawn from the opposite ends of the joint upon completion of assembly of the joint. In the event that one of the tubular elements is closed ended, a retaining ring is utilized as one of the mandrel elements, in which case only one mandrel element is withdrawn while the ring remains captured between a circumferential groove of the joint and the closed end of the tube.
