Abstract: A ram air turbine is presented that includes a turbine having a blade and a turbine shaft, a strut removably coupled to the turbine, wherein the strut has a gearbox section and a drive section, a turbine shaft with a bevel gear oriented perpendicularly to the turbine shaft and positioned within the gearbox section of the strut, a driveshaft coupled to the generator and positioned within the drive section of the strut, and a pinion gear that engages with the bevel gear, wherein the pinion gear is secured to the driveshaft by a spanner nut, wherein the pinion gear utilizes a key configured to interact with the keyed joint of the driveshaft. The pinion gear is supported by a pinion bearing that may be press fit onto the pinion gear and by one of the generator bearings.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a system and method for removing or installing a main shaft of a drivetrain assembly of a wind turbine to and from a nacelle installed atop a wind turbine tower. The rail system includes at least one support component configured to support the main shaft. Further, the support component is configured horizontally with respect to the main shaft. The rail system also includes at least one sliding component connected between the support component and the main shaft. Thus, the sliding component is configured to move horizontally with respect to the support component so as to slide the main shaft between an installed position and an uninstalled position.

Abstract: A convector includes a stator made up of an array of fixed, parallel, equally spaced, equally thick, thermally conductive plates attached to a relatively thick thermally conductive plate. Convectors are provided with a rotor that is made up of an array of flat, rotatable, parallel, equally spaced, equally thick discs. The discs of the rotor are placed between the plates of the stator at relatively close proximity from the walls of the stator plates. Furthermore, the discs are keyed or held in place with the help of spacers and compression nuts to a hollow or a solid shaft. A clearance aperture, circular in shape, is provided on the stator plates. The shaft is held in place at both ends by roller bearings that provide the means for the shaft to rotate. To impart rotational motion to the rotor, the shaft is attached to an external device such as a motor.

Abstract: The invention provides a tidal power generating device that has a large area to receive pressure of a tidal current and can be used in a water surface region. The tidal power generating device includes a cylindrical body that floats by itself and a blade that is continuously provided from a front portion to a rear portion on an outer periphery of the cylindrical body and has torsion in a single direction. The cylindrical body has an interior space through which a power generating nonrotary shaft, a connecting pipe, and a mooring nonrotary shaft pass. The power generating nonrotary shaft is provided with a fan-shaped weight and a power generator. The rear portion of the cylindrical body is sunk when the tidal power generating device is placed on water.

Abstract: The invention relates to a wind power turbine and a gearbox for same. In wind power turbines, the incoming moment is transmitted from a hub to a gearbox via a shaft, and from the gearbox to a generator. According to the invention, the gearbox is at least partially built into the shaft and/or the shaft is at least partially embodied as a rotary gearbox housing.
