摘要: Operating a gaseous fuel engine includes injecting a pilot charge directly into a combustion chamber in an engine, and igniting one spray plume of the pilot charge. A flame front is propagated to other pilot spray plumes to produce an ignition flame for igniting later injected main charge spray plumes. Injection of the pilot and main charges is by way of the same fuel injection orifices.

摘要: An induction cleaning analyzing system includes a pressure sensor, an ignition event detector, and a control module. The pressure sensor measures airflow pressures of intake air and/or exhaust from cylinders in a common airflow pathway of a vehicle. The ignition event detector determines ignition events of the cylinders. The control module obtains pressure waveforms representative of the airflow pressures and divides the pressure waveforms into waveform segments. The control module associates different subsets of the waveform segments with different ones of the cylinders using the ignition events. The control module also identifies cyclic variations in the airflow pressures flowing in the common airflow pathway and caused by at least one of the cylinders by examining the waveform segments associated with the at least one of the cylinders.

摘要: A control device predicts whether temporary reduction occurs to a charging efficiency of fresh air in an in-cylinder gas by an influence of an EGR rate of the in-cylinder gas, which increases later than increase of a charging efficiency of the in-cylinder gas, if a first arithmetic operation is applied to calculating a target throttle opening degree based on a target charging efficiency which is increasing, in a case of shifting to an acceleration operation, by using a prediction model expressing dynamic characteristics of an internal combustion engine. When it is predicted that temporary reduction occurs to the charging efficiency of the fresh air, the control device calculates the target throttle opening degree by a second arithmetic operation by which an increase speed of a throttle opening degree is restrained more than by the first arithmetic operation, instead of calculating the target throttle opening degree by the first arithmetic operation.

摘要: A controller for an internal combustion engine includes a combustion pressure sensor and a temperature calculator. The combustion pressure sensor has a pressure receiver, a semiconductor device, and a detection circuit. The pressure receiver is arranged in a combustion chamber. The internal pressure applied to the pressure receiver is transmitted to the semiconductor device, and the resistance value of the semiconductor device is changed in accordance with own temperature and own deformation caused by the internal pressure. The detection circuit outputs power in accordance with the pressure applied to the pressure receiver and the temperature of the semiconductor device. The temperature calculator calculates a temperature of the combustion chamber based on an output of the detection circuit at the time when a combustion pressure is not acting on the pressure receiver.

摘要: A hand-held power tool may include a housing, a power unit disposed within the housing and configured to operate at least in part in response to actuation of a trigger, a working assembly powered responsive to operation of the power unit, and an activation lever having an integrated lockout member. The activation lever may selectively engage a first fuel enrichment mode associated with startup of the power unit in a first range of ambient temperatures and a second fuel enrichment mode associated with startup of the power unit in a second range of ambient temperatures based on a position of the activation lever. Selective engagement of the first fuel enrichment mode or the second fuel enrichment mode may be enabled responsive to actuation of at least the lockout member and positioning of the activation lever.

摘要: An optimized multi-strike ignition technique for an internal combustion engine includes, in one exemplary implementation, determining (i) a number of ignition coil re-strikes, (ii) a re-dwell percentage for ignition coil re-strikes, and (iii) a time between ignition coil re-strikes based on total exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) and engine speed. The optimized multi-strike engine ignition technique also includes controlling multi-strike engine ignition by controlling a sparking system of the engine based on the determined multi-strike parameters.
