    摘要: An injector is designed to provide continuously variable injection rate shaping. With a hydro-mechanical internal feedback mechanism, injector needle position can be determined by controlling a feedback valve's on/off timing. According to the needle position, an injection needle valve opening can be controlled, and then the injection flow rate can be delivered proportionally. Also in accordance with the present invention a CRDI systems are provided including injectors of the present invention, wherein results demonstrate that injector designs of the present invention not only achieve rate shaping capability but also solve the above-noted problems of the current CRDI system. Finally, an iterative learning controller has also been developed to track the desired injection rate, and an injection rate estimator is designed to realize a cycle to cycle feedback control.

A fixed plate is arranged above the movable plate, so that the movable plate is brought into contact with the fixed plate. The fixed plate has a high pressure passage for supplying fuel into the pressure control chamber and a low pressure passage for discharging the fuel from the pressure control chamber. A high pressure port and a low pressure port are formed at a lower end surface of the fixed plate. A first contacting surface is formed at the lower end surface and a first groove is formed in the first contacting surface for holding a part of fuel in a plate-contacted condition.

    摘要: An enclosure member includes a throughhole that penetrates a cover portion. The cover portion includes a blocking portion that receives an abutment by a wall portion to close an opening of an outflow passage with respect to spaces outside of the enclosure member. The blocking portion is provided so as to surround an opening of the throughhole, and the throughhole is in communication with the outflow passage even when the blocking portion is abutting the wall portion. Further, a spring is outside of a back pressure chamber to bias the enclosure member. The enclosure member itself blocks outside spaces from the back pressure chamber, so the expenditure of high pressure fuel may be controlled, and an injection hole may be opened and closed by a needle.

    摘要: A fuel injector for an engine is disclosed. The fuel injector may have a fuel nozzle with at least one injection orifice, and a needle element movable within the fuel nozzle between a first position at which the needle element inhibits fuel flow and a second position at which fuel flow is substantially uninhibited. The fuel injector may also have a control chamber located at a base end of the needle element, a body, and a control valve disposed within the body and movable to selectively drain the control chamber, thereby causing the needle element to move between the first and second positions. The fuel injector may further have an armature disposed within an armature cavity of the body and selectively energized to move the control valve, and a pressure reducer disposed within the body and configured to reduce a pressure of the armature cavity.

    摘要: An electronically controlled fuel injector includes a reduced part count and complexity over similar fuel injectors without a substantial reduction in performance capabilities. This is accomplished by using a one-piece needle that is hydraulically balanced and biased toward a closed position with a spring positioned in the needle control chamber. Although subtle, this injector has some ability to control the fuel pressure when the needle valve is opening and closing by adjusting a relative timing of a pressure control valve opening relative to a needle control chamber, using separate electrical actuators. The invention is particularly applicable to fuel injectors that cycle through high and low pressure states during and between injection events, respectively. Cam actuated fuel injectors being particularly well suited.
