    摘要: A scavenge filter system according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a first scavenge pump stage positioned in a first flow path downstream of a first bearing compartment of a spool and a second scavenge pump stage positioned in a second flow path downstream of a second bearing compartment. The second bearing compartment houses a geared architecture mechanically coupled to the spool. A first scavenge filter fluidly couples the first scavenge pump stage to at least one oil reservoir. A second scavenge filter fluidly couples the second scavenge pump stage to the at least one oil reservoir. The first and second scavenge filters are separate and distinct. A method of filtering debris is also disclosed.

    摘要: A filter assembly is provided that includes an immobilized base material in combination with a slow release mechanism for introducing an additive base material into a lubrication fluid flowing through the filter assembly. The introduced base material is a weaker base material than the base material of the immobilized base material. The combination of the immobilized base material and the additive base material provides a system that would work to neutralize acids for all lube formulations commonly used in the field. As a result, oil drain intervals can be extended.

    摘要: An auxiliary oil filtration system and method for filtering oil in an engine is provided. The auxiliary oil filtration system consists of an auxiliary filtration device, an integral oil transfer pump controlled by an electric motor and that is in electrical communication with an electrical control unit, an electronic pressure sensor, fluid conductors, and means for connecting hardware. The auxiliary filtration device is separate from the primary engine lubrication system, and includes a media supply reel having a roll of filtering media thereon which is moveable to a take-up reel. A media indexing system advances the media supply reel as the filtering media becomes plugged. An electronic pressure sensor dictates the advancement of the filtering media when a pre-determined differential pressure across the filtering media is attained. When all of the filtering media has been transferred from the supply reel to the take-up reel, the cartridge is replaced.

Also included is a first screen defining a first chamber volume that receives an oil flow from the oil chamber inlet, the first screen having a first mesh coarseness. Further included is a second screen surrounding the first screen to define a second chamber volume surrounding the first chamber volume, the second screen having a second mesh coarseness that is greater than the first mesh coarseness. Yet further included is at least one exit nozzle having an exit cross-sectional area that is greater than or equal to a cross-sectional area of apertures of the second screen. Also included is a bypass valve disposed in a first position during a first pressure condition within the first chamber volume and in a second position during a second pressure condition within the first chamber volume.
