The present disclosure relates to a closure latch assembly and system for a vehicle closure panel equipped with a latch mechanism having a latched position and an unlatched position and a power release mechanism moveable between home position, a release position and a double pull position and/or a child lock position, wherein a motor is operable to move the power release mechanism from the home position to the release position and from the home position to the double pull position and/or the child lock position, and wherein an emergency backup mechanism in mechanically coupled communication with the latch mechanism can be mechanically actuated from a non-deployed position to a deployed position to move a pawl from a ratchet holding position to a ratchet releasing position regardless of the position of the power release mechanism, wherein the emergency backup mechanism is prevented from generating rattling noise while in the non-deployed position.

A door latch device is provided which has a childproof locking mechanism of which a childproof lever is pivotally supported by a support shaft. The childproof lever of the childproof locking mechanism is pivotally supported on a casing by the support shaft extending in a transverse direction of a vehicle. This mechanism shifting between a childproof unlock state, in which a door opening operation by an inside handle is transmitted to an engagement mechanism, and a childproof lock state, in which this opening operation is not transmitted, and a manual operation part is formed at an end portion of the childproof lever in a longitudinal direction of a vehicle perpendicular to the support shaft such that this manual operation part passes through a cover member and projects backward.

The subject matter of the present invention is a motor-vehicle door lock which is equipped with a locking mechanism, further with an opening drive (3, 4) which acts on the locking mechanism, and also with an operating lever mechanism (6, 7). At least one sensor (8) for checking an operator opening request is further provided. Finally, a safety device (9, 10, 11), which prevents the locking mechanism (3, 4) from opening at least in its “safe” position, is provided. The invention makes provision for an intermediate lever (7) of the operating lever mechanism (6, 7), which intermediate lever mechanically converts the operator opening request, to selectively act on or not act on the sensor (8) which actuates the opening drive (3, 4), depending on the position of the safety device (9, 10, 11).

A method is provided for operating an activatable locking device for a door and/or a window of a vehicle, in particular of a motor vehicle, the method including the following steps: detecting a person located in the vehicle and the person's position with respect to the door and/or the displaceable window in the vehicle, ascertaining at least one biometric feature of the person indicative of the age, checking, on the basis of the at least one ascertained biometric feature, whether the person falls below a specifiable limit age, and activating the locking device if the person falls below the specifiable limit age and the position of the person is at the door and/or the displaceable window.

A vehicle door operating device includes an opening inside lever connected to an inside handle in a door inside a vehicle, a childproof lock lever that moves between a childproof unlock position and a childproof lock position; a switch lever, a childproof sensor and a single engagement pin. When the childproof lock lever is in the childproof lock position, opening action of the inside handle cannot be transmitted to a door latch device, but can be transmitted to the switch lever. When the childproof lock lever is in the childproof unlock position, releasing action of the opening inside lever can be transmitted to door latch devices for holding a door closed via a single engagement pin, but cannot be transmitted to the switch lever. When the childproof lock lever is in the childproof lock position, the releasing action of the opening inside lever cannot be transmitted to the door latch device via the engagement pin, but can be transmitted to the switch lever.

The invention relates to a motor vehicle door closure, comprising a locking mechanism, an electric drive (3, 4) for the locking mechanism, and a child-restraint element (14) with a corresponding sensor (15). The electric drive (3, 4) can be activated or deactivated in order to open the locking mechanism dependant on the position of the child-restraint element (14), said position being requested using the sensor (15). The activated child-restraint element (14) can be deactivated in an emergency operation by a switch (17), and the locking mechanism can be opened by the electric drive (3, 4).

A powered door latch system for vehicles includes a controller configured to receive data concerning vehicle operating conditions. The door latch system also includes at least one electrically powered door latch having a powered actuator that can be actuated by the controller to unlatch the electrically powered latch. An emergency release is mechanically connected to the electrically powered latch to mechanically release the latch. The system also includes a user communication device such as a display screen that is operably connected to the controller. The user communication device provides a user with information concerning the location and/or operation of the emergency release if a predefined operating condition such as a loss of electrical power has occurred.

A closing mechanism of a vehicle door lock apparatus includes a drive, a pivoting body, a close lever, a transmitting member, and a cancel lever. The pivoting body is driven by the drive to pivot when a fork is disposed in a half latched position. The transmitting member is displaceable between an engaging position, where the transmitting member regulates relative displacement of the close lever and the pivoting body, and a releasing position where the transmitting member allows relative displacement. The cancel lever pivots independently of an open lever and displaces the transmitting member to the releasing position. The close lever displaces the fork to a latched position through the pivoting of the pivoting body when the transmitting member is in the engaging position. The close lever does not contact the fork irrespective of the pivoting of the pivoting body when the transmitting member is in the releasing position.
