摘要: The invention discloses a paperboard comprising a base ply, a top ply, and an intermediate layer disposed in-between the at least one base ply and the top ply. The intermediate layer comprises pigment and microfibrillated cellulose (MFC). The application of an intermediate layer comprising pigment and MFC in-between the base ply and the top ply gives rise to improved optical properties of the paperboard, even when using an uncoated top ply having a low grammage This makes it possible to reduce the grammage of the top ply and still obtain good optical properties.

摘要: A method is for producing a wet-running friction paper, at least containing a fiber fraction consisting of at least one type of fiber, a fraction of at least one filler, and a fraction of a binder based on phenol resin. The fiber fraction, the filler fraction and the binder dissolved as a phenolate solution are processed together in a paper production process to form a pulp, and the binder is subsequently precipitated by means of a precipitating agent, preferably diluted sulfuric acid, and the pulp applied to a long screen is dried and cured while the temperature is raised.

摘要: The invention provides a method of producing a filler comprising calcium carbonate (PCC), preferably to be used in paper or paper board production or in fibre based composites. The method of the invention comprises the steps of; —providing fly ash generated in paper or paper board production; —fractionating said fly ash in at least one step, whereby a coarser fraction is separated from a finer fraction; —forming a suspension of said coarser fraction; —adding carbon dioxide to said suspension to form precipitated calcium carbonate. The method of the invention avoids problems with high amounts of arsenic and heavy metals in the production of filler comprising PCC, when using ash generated in paper or paper board production as a raw material. It has been shown that harmful elements, such as arsenic and heavy metals, are primarily accumulated in the finer fractions of the fly ash. Thus, by using the coarser fraction in the step of carbonation, the amount of arsenic and heavy metals in the final product is reduced.

摘要: Method of papermaking comprises: treating filler with a starch and a flocculant to form a filler floc; combining the filler floc with the cellulose fiber stock; and forming a paper mat from the combination of filler floc and cellulose fiber stock. The method have been found to result in larger particle sizes for the filler flocs, improved shear stability, and improved sheet strength in the paper mat.

摘要: A process for converting gypsum into precipitated calcium carbonate including reacting a mixture comprising gypsum and a seed, a mineral acid, or both with at least one carbonate source, whereby precipitated calcium carbonate is produced in the form of calcite and/or aragonite directly without conversion from a vaterite polymorph. Also, a process for converting gypsum into precipitated calcium carbonate including providing a mixture comprising i) gypsum ii) a seed, a mineral acid, or both iii) at least one additive selected from the group consisting of ammonium sulfate, an organic acid, or an iron material, and reacting the mixture with at least one carbonate source to produce precipitated calcium carbonate in the form of vaterite. The precipitated calcium carbonates having desired and unique compositions, polymorph and crystal size characteristics formed by these processes.
