Abstract:
A method for manufacturing a decorative slip-resistant cover system includes the step of impacting a softened polymer film with a plurality of beads such that a section of each bead protrudes from the softened polymer film. The softened polymer film is hardened. The sections of the beads are embedded into an upper layer of the cover system.
Abstract:
Disclosed are polyvinyl chloride resinous compositions containing cellular fillers such as Silus Balloon and pearlite and molded products prepared by subjecting the compositions to heating at an increased pressure. The molded products may be combined with a core layer such as a non-woven fabric and a victria lawn, a foamed layer such as PVC paste resinous foam, a surface layer such as a non-foamed synthetic resin and molded into laminated sheet products. Those are made lighter and superior in soundproof and adiabatic effects, bending strength, dry touchness, water resistance, dimensional stability, cold resistance and the like so that structural materials such as floor coverings and the like are supplied more advantageously as compared with conventional ones.
Abstract:
The process for making a surface covering having an embossed wear surface, including embossed design portions which differ in elevation and shading, by depositing a liquid resinous base coating onto a backing, depositing a layer of resinous dryblend onto the liquid resinous coating while it is still wet, heating to sinter the dryblend and at least partially set the base coating, producing a design on the sintered layer by appling settable resinous ink to at least a portion thereof in sufficient amounts and viscosity to permit penetration of the ink into the dryblend layer to a depth of about 10 mils (0.254 mm) at the points of application, at least a portion of the design being formed by applying the ink in minute separate but closely spaced deposits, and heating the composite structure for final fusion to form a non-porous sheet wherein the design areas containing the closely spaced ink deposits may differ in shading and elevation in their ink-containing and non-ink-containing portions. These design areas may also differ in shading and elevation from the other ink-containing and non-ink-containing areas of the sheet. The resulting sheet may then be passed around a smooth (or textured) roll with the face of the sheet in contact therewith to provide any smoothing or texturing effect desired. Optionally, an overall resinous top coat may be applied.
Abstract:
A virus inactivating sheet is provided that can inactivate viruses adhering thereto even in the presence of lipids and proteins regardless of whether or not the viruses have an envelope. The virus inactivating sheet can inactivate viruses adhering thereto and includes a sheet body, and monovalent copper compound fine particles and/or iodide fine particles that are held by the sheet body. The virus inactivating sheet can inactivate various viruses. These viruses can be inactivated even in the presence of lipids and proteins.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a method for producing a decorative reflective surface covering with improved adhesion of the various layers, having a backing, metallic areas and a transparent top layer, and the product thus produced. This product is produced by applying an adhesive on the surface of a backing in regular, spaced intervals, bringing a metal face of a film in contact with the adhesive to secure it to the backing, removing the metal film whereby the areas in contact with the adhesive remain on the backing and then applying a transparent layer to the surface of the backing covering the remaining metallic areas.
