摘要: The loss of aluminum content during the laser (20) deposition of superalloy powders (16) is accommodated by melting pure aluminum foil (14) with the superalloy powder to increase a concentration of aluminum in the melt pool (24) so that the resulting layer of deposited material (26) has a desired elemental composition Foils, screens or strips of any material may be melted with powders to achieve any desired cladding composition, including a graded composition across a thickness of a clad layer (50).

摘要: A metal filling apparatus fills molten metal into a minute space formed on a surface of a semiconductor wafer. The apparatus has a processor body with a chamber in which the wafer is held, a molten metal supply, and a molten metal recovery mechanism. The supply includes a tank in which molten metal is stored, a supply pipe connected between the chamber and the tank, a supplier interposed in the supply pipe to supply molten metal from the tank to the processing chamber, and the recovery mechanism recovers molten metal from the processing chamber.

摘要: A method for manufacturing a metal-ceramic composite structure for high temperature exposure is provided, whereby the composite structure includes a base metal structure or component, which is on at least one side covered and permanently joined with one or more ceramic tiles. The method may include the steps of: manufacturing green bodies with cavities and sintering the green bodies to receive ceramic tiles into cavities; arranging the ceramic tiles in a cast mould; pouring liquid metal into the cast mould to substantially fill the cavities; creating an intermediate metal layer; and solidifying the liquid metal to permanently join the ceramic tiles and the intermediate metal layer.

摘要: A method of bonding a metal to a substrate is disclosed herein. The method involves forming a nano-brush on a surface of the substrate, where the nano-brush includes a plurality of nano-wires extending above the substrate surface. In a molten state, the metal is introduced onto the substrate surface, and the metal surrounds the nano-wires. Upon cooling, the metal surrounding the nano-wires solidifies, and during the solidifying, at least a mechanical interlock is formed between the metal and the substrate.

摘要: This invention discloses a metal coating method whereby an abrasion resistant and wear resistant coating is first applied to the that portion of a metal object of extended size to be protected, the coating is then fused onto the metal object with the use of a temperature controlled induction heater, which results in a metal object, at least a portion of which is more abrasion resistant and wear resistant than the uncoated metal object.
