Abstract: A process for capturing carbon dioxide includes the steps of mixing a hydrogen stream and a feedstock stream to produce a mixed stream, wherein the feedstock stream includes hydrocarbons, reacting the hydrocarbons and the hydrogen in the primary reactor of the hydroprocessing unit to produce a hydroprocessing product stream and a carbon dioxide stream, wherein the hydroprocessing product stream includes light products, wherein the hydroprocessing unit is further configured to produce ammonium bisulfide, collecting the ammonium bisulfide in the water to produce a sour water, processing the sour water in the waste water unit to produce an ammonia stream, a hydrogen sulfide stream, and a stripped water stream, introducing the ammonia stream to a carbon dioxide recovery system, and separating carbon dioxide from the carbon dioxide stream using the ammonia in the ammonia stream to produce a carbon dioxide product.

Abstract: Proposed is a pretreatment desulfurization method for marine fuel oil. The method includes a step of preparing a pretreatment desulfurization agent including (a) at least one oxide selected from the group consisting of SiO2, Al2O3, Fe2O3, TiO2, MgO, MnO, CaO, Na2O, K2O, and P2O3, (b) at least one metal selected from the group consisting of Li, Cr, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Ga, Sr, Cd, and Pb, and (c) at least one liquid composition selected from the group consisting of sodium tetraborate (Na2B4O7.10H2O), sodium hydroxide (NaOH), sodium silicate (Na2SiO3). and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). The method also includes a step of feeding the pretreatment desulfurization agent to a fuel supply line through which marine fuel oil is supplied to a marine engine at a certain ratio so that a fluid mixture containing the marine fuel oil and the pretreatment desulfurization agent is supplied to the marine engine, thereby adsorbing and removing sulfur oxides during combustion of the fluid mixture.

Abstract: Carbon nanofiber doped alumina (Al—CNF) supported MoCo catalysts in hydrodesulfurization (HDS), and/or boron doping, e.g., up to 5 wt % of total catalyst weight, can improve catalytic efficiency. Al—CNF-supported MoCo catalysts, (Al—CNF—MoCo), can reduce the sulfur concentration in fuel, esp. liquid fuel, to below the required limit in a 6 h reaction time. Thus, Al—CNF—MoCo has a higher catalytic activity than Al—MoCo, which may be explained by higher mesoporous surface area and better dispersion of MoCo metals on the AlCNF support relative to alumina support. The BET surface area of Al—MoCo may be 75% less than Al—CNF—MoCo, e.g., 166 vs. 200 m2/g. SEM images indicate that the catalyst nanoparticles can be evenly distributed on the surface of the CNF. The surface area of the AlMoCoB5% may be 206 m2/g, which is higher than AlMoCoB0% and AlMoCoB2%, and AlMoCoB5% has the highest HDS activity, removing more than 98% sulfur and below allowed levels.

Abstract: A process of reforming a diesel feedstock to convert diesel to a gasoline blending component may include desulfurizing and denitrogenizing the diesel feedstock to reduce the sulfur and nitrogen content; and then hydrocracking the diesel feedstock over a metal containing zeolitic catalyst to produce an isomerate fraction. The diesel feedstock may have boiling points ranging from 200 to 360° C.

Abstract: A multi-stage process for reducing the environmental contaminants in an ISO8217 Table 2 compliant Feedstock Heavy Marine Fuel Oil involving a core desulfurizing process and a Detrimental Solids Removal Unit as a pre-treating step or post-treating step to the core process. The product of the process is a Product Heavy Marine Fuel Oil compliant with ISO 8217 Table 2 for residual marine fuel including a maximum sulfur content (ISO 14596 or ISO 8754) less than 0.5 wt % and a Detrimental Solids content less than 60 mg/kg. A device for conducting the process and producing the product is disclosed.

Abstract: Diesel fuel compositions are provided that have unexpectedly beneficial cold flow properties. Methods for forming such diesel fuel compositions are also provided. The improved cold flow properties are achieved in part based on dewaxing of a distillate fraction of the composition. The improved cold flow properties are achieved further in part based on inclusion of a cold flow additive and fatty acid alkyl ester in the composition, such as fatty acid methyl ester.

Abstract: A method for producing an olefin and a monocyclic aromatic hydrocarbon of the present invention includes a dicyclopentadiene removal treatment step of removing dicyclopentadienes having a dicyclopentadiene skeleton from a feedstock oil which is a thermally-cracked heavy oil obtained from an apparatus for producing ethylene and which has a 90 volume % distillate temperature, as a distillation characteristic, of 390° C. or lower; and a cracking and reforming reaction step of obtaining a product containing an olefin and a monocyclic aromatic hydrocarbon by bringing the feedstock oil having a content of dicyclopentadienes adjusted to 10% by weight or less by treating a part or all of the feedstock oil through the dicyclopentadiene removal step into contact with a catalyst and reacting the feedstock oil.

In another aspect the present invention provides a composition and the use of a Fischer-Tropsch gasoil fraction according to the invention.
