An environmentally-friendly flexible conductive polyurethane (PU) and a preparation method thereof are disclosed. The environmentally-friendly flexible conductive PU is prepared by subjecting a mixture of a component A and a component B in a specified mass ratio to in-situ solvent-free polymerization, where the component A is prepared from a polyol, a T-type chain extender, a diselenide diol, high-conductivity carbon black, a dispersing agent, a catalyst, and a leveling agent, and the component B is prepared from a polyisocyanate, a polyol, a multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT), and a dispersing agent. The PU has a reliable electrically-conductive function, and shows a self-healing function under room temperature or light conditions when damaged, wherein a microphase separation value HBI (0.5 to 3.0) of soft and hard segment molecules can be adjusted to achieve different hand touches and different mechanical properties, and an organic pollutant emission (volatile organic compound (VOC)) is less than 50 mg/kg.

Clothing weatherproofed by being coated with plastics material of low permeability to water vapor is uncomfortable to wear.The present invention provides a breathable polyurethane film for coating on fabrics to make them waterproof. The film comprises a hard segment formed by reaction of a low molecular weight difunctional compound with excess diisocyanate to form a prepolymer and a soft segment provided by polyethylene glycol with which the prepolymer is reacted in a stoichiometric amount. If desired the film can be formed by reacting the polyethylene glycol with excess diisocyanate to form a prepolymer which is then reacted with a stoichiometric amount of a low molecular weight difunctional compound. The mechanical properties of the film can be improved by cross linking with a cross linking agent such as a triisocyanate.

A process is provided for producing semi-rigid polyurethane foams having exceptional shock-absorbing properties, even after repeated compression, prepared by the reaction of a polyisocyanate; a polyether polyol having a molecular weight within the range from about 2,000 to about 10,000; from about 1 to about 5% by weight of water per part by weight of polyether polyol; from about 1 to about 6% by weight of urea and/or thiourea per part by weight of polyether polyol; and a cross-linking compound having at least three active hydrogen atoms per molecule that are reactive with isocyanate groups and having a molecular weight below about 1000 in an amount from about 5 to about 25% by weight per part by weight of polyether polyol; the amount of polyisocyanate being selected to give an isocyanate index within the range from about 0.7 to about 1.4.The process provides polyurethane foams that have a cellular structure that remains undamaged under compression as high as 60% at temperatures within the range from about +60.degree. C to about -40.degree. C, and the consequent deformation is less than 1% even after ten compressions of at lest 50% in rapid succession.Accordingly, the invention further provides vehicle bumpers having an impact-receiving layer of this polyurethane foam, and that meet the requirements of FMVSS 215.
