    Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to a venting system that includes a lid or base with a center wall that defines a central longitudinal axis, and a total radius that is measured from the longitudinal axis to an outermost surface of the lid or base. The venting system further includes a pressure relief feature that is disposed along the lid or base. The pressure relief feature includes at least a first venting feature defining a thinned region of the lid or base, a venting radius is measured from the longitudinal axis to an outermost extent of the first venting feature, and the venting radius is between about 5% and about 25% of the total radius of the lid or base.

    Abstract: A package is disclosed that includes a container and a closure. The container includes a container neck finish having a radially inner surface, a radially outer surface, and an axial outward end surface extending between the radially inner and outer surfaces. The radially outer surface includes a straight cylindrical upper portion and a threaded cylindrical lower portion. The closure includes a base wall engaging the axial outward end surface of the container neck finish, an external skirt extending away from the base wall and having a threaded section with internal threads engaging the container neck finish, and a pleated section between the threaded section and the base wall.

    Abstract: A vacuum-sealed container wherein a large negative pressure is applied inside the container without using a pump, making it possible to store food for a long time; the container can be sealed without using a packing. The vacuum-sealed container comprises: a container body having a lid coupling groove formed along the periphery of the upper end portion of an opening and arranged along a closed path; a lid body formed to be convex upward using an elastic material, the lid body having a sealing portion formed thereon such that the same is inserted into the lid coupling groove along the periphery thereof so as to seal the inside of the container body; and a valve installed on the lid body so as to provide a passage, through which air inside the container body is discharged to the outside, and so as to expose/cover the passage.

    Abstract: A pour cap for a placement on a plastic container that includes: a base; a nozzle stem extending from the base, wherein said nozzle stem retracts into a top of the pour cap in a closed position and extends at a vertical angle from the pour cap in an open position; a spout extending from the nozzle stem, wherein the spout provides a means to release and allow the flow of liquid through the open nozzle stem; and a gripping surface extending around the perimeter of the top of the pour cap. The spout includes an end cap and the end cap is adapted to open to allow flow of liquid through the spout. The stem rotates radially in the open position and a vent may be provided in a top surface of the base.

    Abstract: A relief valve for use in coupling to a vessel is disclosed. The valve includes a valve body having an inlet passage connected to a valve inlet, an outlet passage connected to a valve outlet, and an internal chamber. A valve seat is engageable with the inlet passage to close the valve inlet. A poppet is coupled to the valve seat, and a spring in the internal chamber is coupled to the poppet, the spring having a predetermined spring force. A vent passage in the valve body has a first end connected to the internal chamber and a second end connected to the outlet passage to permit release of pressure from the internal chamber through the valve outlet. The vent passage is formed at an oblique angle to both the inlet passage and the outlet passage.
