Abstract:
A method for controlling a pedal lever of a hydraulic power brake for an at least partially automated mobile platform. In the method, the pedal lever acts mechanically on a master brake cylinder, and the pedal lever is mechanically coupled to an actuator. The method includes: providing a first signal to a control unit for the power brake for the purpose of controlling the pedal lever so as to move same into a passive position; establishing a first hydraulic connection between the master brake cylinder and a compensating volume; and transferring a first hydraulic volume of the master brake cylinder into the compensating volume by means of the actuator acting on the pedal lever in order to control the pedal lever so as to move same into a passive position.
Abstract:
A brake control system is provided for a vehicle having steerable front wheels, left and right brake units for braking left and right rear wheels, and a single manually operated brake input device. A main brake valve has a supply port, a return port, an outlet and a valve spool for controlling communication therebetween. The valve spool is coupled to brake input device. A normally open left turn valve controls communication between the outlet and the left brake unit. A normally open right turn valve controls communication between the outlet and the right brake unit. A normally open balance valve controls communication between the left and right brake units. The system includes brake input device sensor, a turn angle sensor and a vehicle speed sensor. A control unit controls the left and right turn valves and the balance valve as a function of signals from the sensors.
Abstract:
A valve system of a braking device provided with a stroke simulator that is connected via a connection passage with a pipe for making a master cylinder communicate with a wheel cylinder; and a third shut-off valve that is a solenoid valve and performs opening and closing of a communication between the master cylinder and the stroke simulator, wherein the third shut-off valve is a normally closed valve; and the valve system opens the third shut-off valve by applying a start-up voltage, thereafter keeps the open state of the third shut-off valve by alternately applying a holding voltage that is lower than the start-up voltage and the start-up voltage, in order to prevent heat generated in the valve from becoming excessively high even while keeping the open state of the valve.
Abstract:
A method and system for operating a motor vehicle brake system, actuated in a “Brake-by-Wire” operating mode both by the vehicle driver and also independent of the vehicle driver, preferably operated in the “Brake-by-Wire” operating mode, and which can be operated in at least one fall-back operating mode, in which only operation by the vehicle driver is possible. The brake system has an electrohydraulic pressure and volume setting device, which electronically emits a brake system pressure under control, and a pressure modulation unit having, for each wheel brake, inlet and outlet valves for setting wheel-specific brake pressures. For setting wheel-specific brake pressures, the inlet and outlet valves are actuated analogously by being energized by different electrical currents, in order to assign a pressurizing agent volume flow provided by the pressure and volume setting device to the wheel brakes that have a pressure change requirement.
Abstract:
The application discloses a method for controlling a pneumatic brake system of a vehicle. The method includes the step of modulating a pilot-control brake pressure by means of an electropneumatic pilot-control valve in venting phases and bleeding phases. The method also includes the step of feeding in the pilot-control pressure via a pilot-control line for outputting a brake pressure to wheel brakes of the vehicle.
Abstract:
A method for operating a hydraulic brake system of a motor vehicle, comprising a pressure generating device used to build up additional brake pressure in a master brake cylinder or in addition to a master brake cylinder and in opposition to further pedal actuation wherein the additional pressure is a function of the pedal actuation travel distance. A method that reduces the limitations of a braking system's physical parameters on the build-up of additional braking pressure.
Abstract:
A brake master cylinder arrangement includes a housing with a cylindrical recess, a pressure piston moveable in the cylindrical recess along a longitudinal axis and guided in a sealing manner, and a reservoir for storing brake fluid that is fluidically connected via a fluid channel to the housing. The pressure piston and the housing enclose a pressure chamber that is connected to a fluid circuit of the brake system. Depending on the position of the associated pressure piston, the pressure chamber is either fluidically connected to the fluid reservoir or disconnected therefrom. In a region that axially spans the sealing arrangement in a starting position of the pressure piston, the outer circumferential surface of the pressure piston has profiling that provides a fluidic connection between the fluid reservoir and the pressure chamber.
