Abstract:
An airbag assembly includes a housing having a chute defining an opening. A panel is joined with the chute at a first end and extends over the opening to a second end opposite the first end and elevated with respect thereto. A substrate overlies the panel such that the elevated second end is closer to the substrate than the first end, and a foam layer extends from the substrate to the panel.
Abstract:
A side airbag system (12) for a vehicle is provided. The side airbag system (12) includes a seatback frame (16) having a front side (20), a rear side (22), and an outboard side (24). The outboard side (24) of the seatback frame (16) has an airbag module (26) coupled thereto and extending substantially outboard from the seatback frame (16). The airbag module (26) is positioned for deploying an airbag (30) substantially forward. The rear side (22) of the seatback frame (10) has a rear cover panel (40) attached thereon. This rear cover panel (40) is a one-piece element for covering the airbag module (26) and both the rear side (22) and the outboard side (24) of the seatback frame (16). The system (12) also includes foam cushion padding (34), which is deformed by the airbag (30) upon its deployment.
Abstract:
Disclosed are a passenger airbag door structure in which a pad deploying part and an airbag door part are integrally formed and a method of making the same.
Abstract:
In order to provide an occupant restraint system located in the rear passenger compartment of a motor vehicle, which system increases the safety of vehicle occupants and at the same time can be produced simply and therefore cost-effectively, an occupant restraint system located in the rear passenger compartment of a motor vehicle, having a side airbag module which comprises a gas bag and a gas generator and is arranged next to that side of a rear seat which faces the side body is proposed, a cover being provided in front of the side airbag module in the direction of travel, and the cover consisting of elastically deformable material and being an integral component of a side member of the rear seat or of an arm support arranged in the region of the side body.
Abstract:
An instrument panel defines an upper surface and a lower surface. An airbag device has an inflatable portion and is installed to the instrument panel below and spaced apart from the lower surface. A panel is installed to the lower surface of the instrument panel above the airbag. The panel has an opening that is at least partially covered by a first door, a second door and a third door located along the lower surface of the instrument panel prior to deployment of the airbag. In response to deployment of the airbag, the inflatable portion pushes the first, second and the third doors upward against the instrument panel with the first door pivoting about a first hinge that extends in a vehicle lateral direction, and at least one of the second door and the third door pivoting about a second hinge that extends in a vehicle longitudinal direction.
Abstract:
A driver seat airbag may include: a mounting plate seated on a wheel armature; a cover coupled to the mounting plate so as to be lifted and lowered; an elastic member installed between the mounting plate and the cover to apply an elastic force to the cover; an electrode unit installed in the mounting plate; and a connector installed on the cover and connected to the electrode unit when the cover is lowered.
Abstract:
A display article includes a film formed from a stretchable plastic and including a first plurality of micro-light emitting diodes and a second plurality of micro-light emitting diodes disposed adjacent to the first plurality and embedded in the plastic. The article includes a substrate having a first portion and a second portion, and a tear seam disposed between the first and second portions. The film is attached to the substrate such that the tear seam is located between the first and second pluralities. A component includes the display article and an airbag disposed adjacent the substrate and configured for transitioning between a stowed position in which the airbag does not extend through the substrate, and a deployed position in which the airbag extends through the substrate and the film. The first and second portions are separated at the tear seam when the airbag is disposed in the deployed position.
Abstract:
A passenger protection device includes an airbag having a roof panel arranged to deploy to cover at least a portion of and at least one tether having a first end attached to a first attachment point on a surface of the airbag that faces a vehicle roof when the airbag is deployed, and a second end attachable to a second attachment point.
Abstract:
An airbag lid structure includes: an airbag lid member which forms an opening for swelling an expanded airbag body; a cleavage groove formed on a back surface of the airbag lid member, and which defines the airbag lid member into a general surface located outside of the opening and a lid located inside of the opening, the lid including a front end edge and a back end edge; a first cleavage line structuring the cleavage groove and extending in a first direction; a second cleavage line structuring the cleavage groove and extending in a second direction substantially perpendicular to the first direction; a tear line included in the second cleavage line and corresponding to the front end edge of the lid; and a hinge line included in the second cleavage line and corresponding to the back end edge of the lid, and having a delayed rupture generating part which generates lag in rupturing of the hinge line relative to the tear line.
Abstract:
In a back portion of a seat back provided with a lumbar support portion 20 and a side support portion 21, a seat back cover 30 for covering a back face of the seat back is provided. The seat back cover 30 is provided with a side portion 32 for covering an air bag module 50 by making a forward end portion, which is extended to the front side of a vehicle, come into contact with the side support portion 21. The side support portion 21 is provided being capable of oscillating to the front side of the vehicle with respect to the lumbar support 20. An air bag module 50 is arranged in an accommodation space 90 provided on the rear side of the side support portion 21.
