Abstract: A tire tread depth estimation system for a vehicle includes a light source, a camera, an electronic controller, and a display. The light source is configured to emit light onto a surface of a vehicle tire. The camera is configured to capture an image of the surface of the vehicle tire. The electronic controller is connected to the light source and to the camera. The controller is configured to estimate a depth of a tire tread of the vehicle tire based on the image received from the camera. The display is configured to display the estimated tire tread depth.

Abstract: A vehicle lamp assembly includes a lamp housing, a trim panel and a bezel. The lamp housing includes a lens, a light source and first attachment structures. The trim panel defines a first lens receiving opening. The bezel has a second lens receiving opening and second attachment structures. The lamp housing attaches to the bezel with the lamp housing overlaying a portion of the trim panel on an opposite side from the bezel. The lens of the lamp housing extends through the first lens receiving opening and the second lens receiving opening with the first attachment structures and the second attachment structures attached to one another.

Abstract: A vehicle engine cradle structure includes a front member, a rear assembly and a side member. The front member extends in a vehicle lateral direction and has a first outboard end and a second outboard end. The rear assembly extends in the vehicle lateral direction and has a first outboard area and a second outboard area opposite the first outboard area. The first side member has a first forward end, a first rearward end and a first forward outboard portion all being formed as a single monolithic unitary element. The first forward end is fixedly attached to the first outboard end of the front member. The first rearward end is fixedly attached to the first outboard area of the rear assembly. The first forward outboard portion extends in an outboard direction from the first outboard end of the front member defining an off-center impact area.

Abstract: Proactively mitigating risk to a vehicle traversing a vehicle transportation network includes identifying a location for a virtual vehicle. The virtual vehicle is added to a world object model maintained with respect to the vehicle. A trajectory is predicted for the virtual vehicle. The vehicle is autonomously controlled according to an adjusted trajectory that is based on the trajectory for the virtual vehicle. The adjusted trajectory includes at least one of a lateral constraint or a speed constraint. The location for the virtual vehicle is identified based on a lane in map data, a trajectory of a vehicle, and a perceptible area by sensors of the vehicle. The virtual vehicle is a hypothetical vehicle that is not observed by sensors of the vehicle.

Abstract: A method and system for determining risk indicators for intersections. A method includes receiving, by a computing node from intersection proximate sensors at each intersection, intersection data. For each intersection, the method includes determining, by the computing node for each connected vehicle proximate to an intersection, a driver risk score based on driver distraction data from the intersection data for the intersection, determining, by the computing node, a near miss score based on the intersection data for the intersection, and assigning, by the computing node for the intersection, an intersection risk indicator level based on an exponential moving average of intersection risk indicator scores determined from driver risk scores and near miss scores. The method includes providing, by the computing node, intersection risk indicator levels to each connected vehicle to facilitate control decisions by each connected vehicle when approaching intersections.

Abstract: A bracket assembly for a relay box for a vehicle includes a first bracket member and a second bracket member. The first bracket member is configured to be mounted to a frame of the vehicle. The first bracket member is configured to receive the relay box in an installed position. The second bracket member is connected to the first bracket member. A gap is defined between the first bracket member and the second bracket member. The gap is configured to receive an electrical wiring harness connected to the relay box to support the relay box prior to the relay box being mounted in the installed position.
