Abstract: A display control device for a vehicle includes a memory, and at least one processor connected to the memory. The processor displays, on a display portion provided at a front side of a driver's seat, plural icons corresponding to a steering switch group that has a touch-sensor-type first switch and a non-touch-sensor-type second switch. The plural icons include a first icon corresponding to the first switch and a second icon corresponding to the second switch. In a case in which a touch operation of the first switch is sensed, the processor displays both the first icon and the second icon, and, in a case in which a non-touch operation of the second switch is sensed, the processor sets both the first icon and the second icon in non-displayed states.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an operating member including a support; an actuating part, which has an actuating surface facing towards an operator, and the actuating part has an edge region, which is provided outside the actuating surface and via which the actuating part is supported on the support; wherein the actuating part has a layer structure, defining the actuating surface, and the layer structure has at least two layers that differ in the modulus of elasticity; wherein, in a transitional region between the edge region and the actuating surface, a layer with the smallest modulus of elasticity is a highly elastic layer, and has the greatest layer thickness compared to other layers of the layer structure, in order to provide an elastic compliance of the actuating part; a force sensor disposed between the support and the actuating part detects a displacement of the actuating part.

Abstract: A scrolling shifter assembly having a housing rotatably supporting a scrolling wheel having a knurled exterior edge accessible to a vehicle operator, the scrolling wheel also including an annular side detent profile. A magnet is positioned in proximity to a sensor mounted to a printed circuit board (PCBA) within the housing and displaces relative to the sensor in response to rotation of the scrolling wheel. A display component is mounted in proximity to the PCBA. At least one haptic biasing component including any of spring loaded pawl or wave spring is supported within the housing and biases against the detent profile such that, and upon the operator actuating the scrolling wheel, the pawl is caused to displace relative to the profile in order to incrementally rotate the wheel, the magnet rotating relative to the PCBA sensor to cause an associated processor to electronically instruct a shift change to an engine control unit.

Abstract: An operating unit includes a touch-sensitive operating area and control unit. The control unit determines an activation location on the operating area from the information relating to the touched regions. If the activation location is in a predefined field, the control unit performs a function assigned to the field. The control unit determines the activation location from a position on or in the region of a boundary line bounding a fingertip and that is at the front in the direction of movement of the finger on the surface of the operating area, only when a determined speed of movement of a course of the regions of the touched operating exceeds a predefined limit value. Otherwise, the activation location is determined from an area centroid of all regions of the operating area which have been touched by the finger at a point in time.

The disclosure also includes a programmable logic configured to activate the left turn signal automatically based on a predetermined left rotation of the steering wheel and configured to activate the right turn signal automatically based on a predetermined right rotation of the steering wheel in relation to a zero rotation of the steering wheel for a straight travel of the vehicle.

Abstract: A vehicle gesture control system for a host vehicle, the host vehicle including an adaptive cruise control or autonomous drive arrangement, the system including a sensor to detect gestures performed by a driver on the surface of a steering wheel grip in the host vehicle, the steering wheel grip including a circular tube surrounding a steering wheel that rotates about a steering column, and a processor receiving outputs from the sensor and connected to a memory unit storing instructions for the processor to activate a plurality of features of the adaptive cruise control or autonomous drive arrangement in response to a respective plurality of different gestures detected by the sensor, wherein two of the gestures represent “up” and “down” commands and include movement of the driver's thumb in opposite directions, respectively, around a lateral section of the steering wheel grip that faces the driver.

Abstract: A smart functional vehicle component includes a vehicle component, a leather sheet fixed over a surface of the vehicle component, a flexible electronic circuit contacting an A-surface of the leather sheet and including a printed and cured conductive ink, a light source that emits light when electrical power is supplied to the light source, the light source being electrically connected to the circuit, and a pigmented coating arranged over the electronic circuit and over the light source. The pigmented coating inhibits or prevents the circuit and the light source form being visible through the pigmented coating. Light emitted by the light source is visible through the pigmented coating. Light emitted by the light source provides visual indicators that convey information to a vehicle occupant.
