    摘要: A printing unit for a roll-fed printing press having at least two printing mechanisms, wherein a first printing mechanism imprints a first side of a web-shaped substrate and a second printing mechanism imprints a second side of the web-shaped substrate opposite to the first side. The first printing mechanism and second printing mechanism each have a form cylinder, a transfer cylinder, an inking unit, and preferably a dampening unit. The transfer cylinders of the first printing mechanism and the second printing mechanism roll on one another while forming a printing gap for the substrate to be imprinted. A main driving motor is associated with the first printing mechanism or the second printing mechanism. A braking motor is associated with the printing mechanism with which the main driving motor is not associated.

    摘要: A printing unit in a lithographic web fed rotary printing press has a plate cylinder and an associated blanket cylinder mechanically coupled via a gear train. A first drive motor drives both the plate cylinder and blanket cylinder. An impression cylinder is associated with the blanket cylinder, the impression cylinder being in rolling contact with the blanket cylinder and being driven by a second drive motor. The web passes through a nip formed between the impression cylinder and the blanket cylinder for printing. A clutch is provided for interrupting a drive connection between the first drive motor and the blanket cylinder, as is a throw-off mechanism for separating the plate cylinder from the blanket cylinder. With the printing unit, the blanket cylinder can remain in rolling contact with the impression cylinder and be friction-driven by the web after the drive connection has been interrupted.

    摘要: An apparatus for use with an encoder feedback device includes a comparator, a counter, and a prediction unit. The encoder feedback device is coupled to rotate with a rotating load and operable to generate at least one feedback position signal indicative of movement of the rotating load. The comparator is operable to receive the feedback position signal and generate a first position signal including a plurality of edges based on the feedback position signal. The counter is operable to receive the first position signal and count the edges to periodically generate position values at a predetermined update interval. The prediction unit is operable to receive a position data request at a first time and predict a position of the rotating load at the first time as a function of at least a subset of the position values generated prior to the first time and a misalignment between the first time and the predetermined update interval to generate an aligned position signal.
