摘要: The invention relates to a method for automated error management in a printing machine, wherein a recurring print image is imprinted on a moving material web. To improve automated error management for existing inspection systems, a method is provided wherein the print image is acquired by a line scan camera and forwarded to a control unit, in which a print error is recognized in the acquired print image, using an error recognition algorithm, and forwarded by the control unit to an error type database together with characteristics information. The error type database outputs the error type of the recognized print error in an implementation phase, the error type database having been trained by a plurality of operators in a training phase.

摘要: A full-color-inkjet receptive topcoat can be flexographically printed on a substrate. The flexographically-printed, full-color-inkjet receptive topcoat includes a pigment and a polymeric binder, in which a ratio of the pigment to polymeric binder is in a range of from 3:1 to 5:1 by dry parts. Such a coating provides good printability with color inkjet printing, which conventionally has not been possible with flexographically-printed topcoats.

摘要: A method of operating a flexographic printing press having a printing cylinder carrying a sleeve with at least one flexographic printing forme or a flexographic printing cylinder, and an impression cylinder, includes adjusting contact pressure between the printing cylinder or the flexographic printing cylinder and the impression cylinder by motor. The adjustment is made in an automated way as a function of a dot density of the flexographic printing forme, i.e. of a location-dependent density of printing elevations on the flexographic printing forme or data computationally derived therefrom. A cost-efficient way of producing high-quality prints in an industrial flexographic printing process is thus provided. In addition, the method advantageously provides further automation of the printing process. A flexographic printing press, a flexographic printing press system, and a flexographic printing forme or sleeve for a flexographic printing forme are also provided.

摘要: The present invention methods for manufacturing absorbent articles that involve the placement of absorbent cores having variable absorbency levels on consecutively aligned absorbent articles within the same manufacturing line. Additionally, the present invention also includes the provision of single packages of disposable absorbent articles that contain a first absorbent article having a first absorbency level and a second absorbent article having a second absorbency level, wherein the second absorbency level is higher than the first absorbency level.

摘要: A device for measuring elevations on a surface of a rotary body provided as a cylinder, sleeve, or plate for a graphic industry machine, for instance a flexographic printing plate, includes a first motor rotating the rotary body about an axis of rotation and a measuring device including at least one radiation source, at least one line scan camera, and a computer taking contact-free measurements and combining individual images of the line scan camera to form a joint image. The measuring device preferably includes a reference object such as a wire tautened in an axially parallel direction, a second motor and, if required, a further second motor adjusting the measuring device and/or reference object perpendicular to the axis of rotation. The device provides fast high-precision measurements of elevations such as flexographic printing dots. A system includes the measuring device and a flexographic printing press.

摘要: A method operates a flexographic printing press. The press contains a printing cylinder carrying a sleeve with at least one flexographic printing forme or a flexographic printing cylinder and an impression cylinder forming a printing nip with the printing cylinder to print on a web of printing substrate. The method includes automatically adjusting the transport speed of the web of printing substrate as a function of a dot density of the flexographic printing forme, i.e. of a location-dependent density of printing elevations on the flexographic printing forme, or of data computationally derived therefrom, or as a function of gaps of the flexographic printing forme or printing cylinder or data computationally derived therefrom. The printing press advantageously provides a cost-efficient way of producing high-quality prints in an industrial flexographic printing process while avoiding undesired vibration. In addition, the method of the invention advantageously provides further automation of the printing process.

摘要: A method for attaching a printing plate (12), especially a flexographic printing plate, to a printing cylinder (14) is described. In a first step, the printing plate (12) is provided in a substantially flat condition. Thereafter, an outer circumference of the printing cylinder (14) is arranged adjacent to an edge of the printing plate (12). Subsequently, the printing cylinder (14) is translatorily moved over the printing plate (12) while rotating such that the printing plate (12) is rolled-up on the printing cylinder (14). Additionally, an apparatus (10) for attaching a printing plate (12) to a printing cylinder (14) is presented. The apparatus (10) comprises a printing plate support unit (16) having a substantially flat support surface (18) for supporting the printing plate (12) to be mounted on the printing cylinder (14), and a printing cylinder support unit (36) for supporting and moving the printing cylinder (14). The printing cylinder support unit (36) comprises a translatory drive means (42) for translatorily moving the printing cylinder (14) in a direction parallel to the support surface (18).

摘要: A plate sleeve-holder cylinder provided with a carbon-fibre central tube (T) comprising compressed air channels (6, 7, 8) arranged between one of the end flanges (Fb, Fm) of said plate sleeve-holder cylinder and a plurality of holes (H) formed in the outer surface of said central tube (T) made of carbon-fibre composite material. Said air channels (6, 7, 8) are partly embedded within said end flanges (Fb, Fm), partly within a thickness of a side wall (P) of said central tube (T) made of carbon-fibre composite material. Additionally, a process of manufacturing said central tube (t) is disclosed by inserting air pipes (6) into grooves (1) which are formed by mechanical milling of a surface of the supporting structure (P) of said central tube (T) obtained through a first lamination and polymerization, said grooves being coated with a surface finishing structure (S) obtained through a second lamination and polymerization.
