Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention replace at least some of the flame resistant fibers traditionally used in the batting of a thermal liner (e.g., aramids) with thermally stable polyamide fibers (e.g., nylon fibers). The TPP performance of garments incorporating embodiments of thermal liners contemplated herein is comparable to—if not improved over—garments formed with traditional thermal liners.

Abstract: A composite wiping non-woven fabric with a layered structure, having an upper surface layer, a middle fiber layer, and a lower surface layer; the upper surface layer and the lower surface layer of the composite wiping non-woven fabric are formed by melt-blown fibers, and the middle fiber layer is formed at least by viscose fibers: a weight of the middle fiber layer is greater than or equal to 65% of a total weight of the composite wiping non-woven fabric; there are fiber interlacing and intertwining areas between the upper surface layer and the middle fiber layer, as well as between the lower surface layer and the middle fiber layer.

The nonwoven materials can have multiple layers and are suitable for use in a variety of applications, including in absorbent products. Abstract: A flexible insulation material may be configured to substantially reduce the amount of radiation transmitted therethrough by incorporating a reflective mat of high temperature fibers that withstand temperatures of at least 500° C. The flexible insulation may be stored and used over temperatures ranging from −270° C. to 5000° C. The mat may have optical properties to produce a transmittance of no more than 5% over a range of temperature from 500° C. to 5000 vC. The mat may include high temperature fibers such as carbon and/or silicon carbide and these fibers may be coupled by a binder in a non-woven fabric. The flexible insulation material may be configured in the Flexible Thermal Protection System of a deployable aerodynamic decelerator or a Hypersonic Inflatable Aerodynamic Decelerator and may be durably flexible.

Abstract: The present invention provides a non-woven fabric for supporting a solid electrolyte in which heat-fusible composite fibers with a crimp are contained in an amount of not less than 60 mass % and not more than 100 mass % and are heat-fused, and a solid electrolyte sheet. The non-woven fabric for supporting a solid electrolyte is excellent in process performance, is satisfactorily filled with a solid electrolyte, is suitable for achieving a thin solid electrolyte sheet, and has few hole defects. The solid electrolyte sheet is excellent in self-sustainability and flexibility.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a multilayer protective mask having antimicrobial properties, said mask comprising a body portion comprising: at least a first and a second fabric layers having random fiber configuration; a middle layer comprising a nanofiber membrane; and a third and a fourth fabric layers. The first fabric layer is disposed between the third fabric layer and the nanofiber membrane, and the second fabric layer is disposed between the fourth fabric layer and the nanofiber membrane. The first, the second, the third, and the fourth fabric layers have incorporated therein a synergistic combination of at least two metal oxide powders, comprising a mixed oxidation state oxide of a first metal and a single oxidation state oxide of a second metal, said combination having synergistic antimicrobial properties.
