摘要: A rubber article mold capable of discharging air from a molding-surface side to a back-surface side during curing while suppressing the entry of rubber into an air vent hole and a method for producing such a rubber article mold are provided. The rubber article mold includes air discharge means for discharging air from a molding-surface side for molding a rubber article to a back-surface side. The air discharge means is formed as an annular hollow penetrating from a molding surface to a back surface of the rubber article mold. The annular hollow has an inflow area where the air on the molding-surface side flows in, a discharge area for discharging the air having flowed in from the inflow area to the back-surface side, and an intermediate area communicating with the inflow area and the discharge area and smaller or larger in diameter than the inflow area and the discharge area.

The method comprises dividing a blade mould geometry (70) or plug geometry into separate geometrical slices or segments. The separate slices can then be used to control a cutting of blank elements (78) to form separate cut surfaces (82). The cut surfaces are used to form a consolidated wind turbine mould surface.

摘要: A method and apparatus for forming a stack of composite layers into a desired shape is present. The stack of composite layers may be positioned on a tool and a number of compressible supports such that the stack of composite layers may be substantially flat on the tool and the stack of composite layers may be substantially flat on the number of compressible supports. A flexible sheet may be placed on top of the stack of composite layers. A vacuum load may be applied on the stack of composite layers on the tool and the number of compressible supports using the flexible sheet such that consolidation of the stack of composite layers occurs to form a desired shape on the tool and the number of compressible supports compress during forming of the desired shape.

摘要: An apparatus 10 and a method 50 for the creation of a tool 40. The apparatus 10 and the method 50 allow for dynamic measurement of the tool 40 as it is being created and further allows for the use of positive feedback to increase the likelihood that the produced tool will be structurally similar to a certain model. The apparatus 10 and method 50 further allow sections of varying thicknesses to be used and provide a technique to create surfaces which further increase the likelihood that the produced tool will be structurally equivalent to a desired and modeled tool.

The result is a model from which a mold or composite parts can be fabricated, using high temperature and pressure processes if desired.

摘要: A method of making a flexible composite tool particularly adapted for composite molding and the composite tool made by this method. The method includes dissolving a B-staged fluoroelastomer in a suitable solvent such as methyl ethyl ketone or toluene to form a fluoroelastomer solution. A fabric is then coated with the fluoroelastomer solution. The solvent is evaporated and the impregnated fabric is sandwiched between unreinforced sheets to form a reinforced tooling material. The reinforced tooling material is laid up with alternating layers of unreinforced fluoroelastomer and then cured to form a composite tool which is stable through multiple thermal cycles. In addition, an elastomer tool can be provided with detail cavities shaped to accept separately formed detail structures, with each cavity including extra reinforcement in order to locate the details to close tolerances without extensive hand positioning or use of adhesives. The tool is useful in molding composites and is reusable. The life of the tool is further prolonged by a described method of repairing damaged portions of the tool.
