Abstract: A method for manufacturing a mold element using a manufacturing device comprising a die and a counter-mold defining a molding cavity in the closed position, comprises: opening the manufacturing device; placing at least one insert 22, produced by laser sintering, against a molding surface of the die; mounting at least one wedge 28 on the die so as to bear against said insert in order to immobilize it relative to said molding surface; closing the manufacturing device, the counter-mold pressing onto said wedge in order to keep said insert pressed against said molding surface; injecting aluminium into the molding cavity of the manufacturing device; opening the manufacturing device; and extracting from the manufacturing device the mold element provided with a molding face formed by at least part of said insert and by the aluminum.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing an aluminium mould (1) segment (10) for curing and vulcanizing a tyre comprises: a) fixing at least one thin blade (2) for the formation of the grooves in the tire tread, in a mould form made of friable material, so that an exterior part of the thin blade is embedded in the material of the mould form and so that an interior part projects from this mould form, this thin blade being made from maraging steel and having been obtained by a selective laser melting method, b) closing the mould form and pouring or injecting aluminium into it, coating the interior part of the thin blade, c) breaking away the mould form to obtain the mould segment. The thin blade (2) is subjected to a peening treatment with a material with a Vickers hardness between 340 and 500 HV and with dimensions smaller than 0.3 mm.

Abstract: In a tread-forming surface of a mold, a contour of a land surface-forming portion located between two projections among at least three land surface-forming portions can be represented by a single circular arc that is convex outward. In a case where, of the two projections, one projection is a wide projection and the other projection is a narrow projection, when a surface that has a contour represented by at least one circular arc and that is tangent to the at least three land surface-forming portions is defined as a reference surface of the tread-forming surface, a drop distance from the reference surface to an end on the wide projection side of the land surface-forming portion can be longer than a drop distance from the reference surface to an end on the narrow projection side of the land surface-forming portion.

The lower cylindrical part (2.4) and the central cylindrical part (2.5) are divided into four flexible legs (2.7) to (2.10), forming the flexible collet. Four flexible legs (2.7 to 2.10) are shaped identically and partially reach the connecting cylindrical part (2.6).
