Abstract:
An extruder screw includes a screw main body, conveyance portions, barrier portions, and paths. The raw materials, the conveyance of which is limited by the barrier portions, flow in from the entrance. The raw materials flowing in from the entrance flow through the paths in an opposite direction to a conveyance direction of the conveyance portions. The exit is opened in the outer circumferential surface of the screw main body at a position on an upstream side in the conveyance direction in the conveyance portions in which the entrance is opened.
Abstract:
A method in which a stream of dry cementitious powder from a dry powder feeder passes through a dry cementitious powder inlet conduit to feed a first feed section of a fiber-slurry mixer. An aqueous medium stream passes through at least one aqueous medium stream conduit to feed a first mixing section the fiber-slurry mixer. A stream of reinforcing fibers passes from a fiber feeder through a reinforcing fibers stream conduit to feed a second mixing section of the fiber-slurry mixer. The stream of dry cementitious powder, aqueous medium stream, and stream of reinforcing fibers combine in the fiber-slurry mixer to make a stream of fiber-cement mixture which discharges through a discharge conduit at a downstream end of the mixer.
Abstract:
An improved screw has a shaft having a surface and a central axis and at least one flight extending helically along the surface of the shaft in successive turns. A continuous groove is formed in the surface of the shaft and extends between successive, pushing and trailing, turns of the flight at a selected angle greater than zero. The groove defines at least one generally triangular land having a base aligned with a pushing turn of the flight and an apex between successive turns of the flight. The groove also defines another generally triangular land having a base aligned with a trailing turn of the flight. Barriers or dams may be provided on the lands and in the grooves. A second continuous groove may also be formed in the surface of the shaft.
Abstract:
A single-screw extrusion desulfurization and post-processing system and a method for preparing reclaimed rubber. The single-screw extrusion desulfurization and post-processing system comprises: a single-screw desulfurization device, a single-screw post-processing device and a closed connection device for connecting the single-screw desulfurization device and the single-screw post-processing device, the single-screw post-processing device includes a post-processing feeding unit and a post-processing unit which are connected with each other, and a post-processing screw running through the post-processing feeding unit and the post-processing unit.
Abstract:
The disclosure relates to a starch-polyester graft copolymer, for example formed by the reactive blending of a thermoplastic starch (TpS) and/or a modified thermoplastic starch (MTpS) with a biodegradable polyester. The thermoplastic starch includes starch (e.g., a high-amylose starch) and a plasticizer, and can further include a chemical modifier and an optional initiator. The graft copolymer preferably is completely (or substantially completely) biodegradable, for example based on the biodegradability of each of its components. The graft copolymer can be formed into sheets of material that can be subsequently thermoformed, for example into single-use, disposable articles.
Abstract:
A screw adapted for plasticizing a fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin wherein screw lead (distance of the resin advancement in the direction of the axis per 1 revolution of the screw when it is postulated that the screw channel is 100% filled with the resin) of the screw in its compression section decreases in the direction toward the forward end of the screw. A plasticizing apparatus wherein such screw is mounted. A method for molding a fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin by using such an apparatus. A molded article produced by such molding method. In the present invention, shear force of sufficient level can be obtained to avoid the formation of clumps while breakage of the reinforcing fibers is avoided to leave long fibers in the molded article. The resulting molded article has excellent mechanical properties, and such article is quite useful as a material for use in automobile parts and other parts.
Abstract:
A single worm extruder for the mixing and processing of rubber is disclosed. The worm consists of two sections, an intake section and a mixing section. The mixing section has lands countercurrent to those of the intake section for partially backfeeding the rubber on to the intake section to provide a turbulent current of material. The countercurrent lands are interrupted by gaps which collectively have the same total area as the cross-sectional area of the intake section. The gaps in the mixing section are of constant width and have a diameter of not less than 10 mm and not more than 12 mm. The mixing section has a larger core and outer diameter than the intake section.
