    摘要: This disclosure is to provide a pellet excellent in modification effect of heat-resistant creeping property improvement of thermoplastic resins such as polyethylene and the like, and excellent in appearance as well. The pellet of this disclosure contains: 60 to 99 mass % of a polyphenylene ether resin (I); and 1 to 40 mass % of a block copolymer (II), which contains a polymer block P mainly formed of a vinyl aromatic compound, and a polymer block Q mainly formed of a conjugated diene compound of which a total amount of 1,2-vinyl bonding amount and 3,4-vinyl bonding amount is 5% or more and less than 50%, wherein: black spot foreign matters with a longitudinal diameter of more than 0.7 mm do not exist on front and back surfaces of a flat plate obtained by molding the pellet into four flat plates with a size of 90.0 mm×50.0 mm×2.0 mm.

    摘要: A method for making a thermoplastic material includes: (a) partially crosslinking an elastomer composition at a first crosslinking temperature to form a thermoplastic, partially crosslinked elastomer composition; (b) mixing a thermoplastic polymer composition with the thermoplastic, partially crosslinked elastomer composition and heating the mixture to a second crosslinking temperature higher than the first crosslinking temperature, wherein the thermoplastic polymer composition is liquid at the second crosslinking temperature; and (c) continuously mixing the mixture while further crosslinking the elastomer composition to form a thermoplastic material having a dispersed phase of crosslinked elastomer composition in the thermoplastic polymer composition. The elastomer composition may include an elastomer compounded with a curing agent and optionally additional components. A thermoplastic material resulting from this process may be molded or shaped by any method used for forming thermoplastic materials into articles, such as molding, extrusion, or thermoforming.

    摘要: An apparatus (20) for batch molding open-cell soft polyurethane foam within a mold (22a,22b,104) is provided by introducing into a mixing chamber (26) of a mixing pot (24) a highly activated polyol component and an isocyanate component which are mixed and permitted to foam to provide upward expansion in a viscous state through an upper outlet (28) by free rise that fills the mold (22,104). Such batch molding provides "one age of foam" that enables molding to be performed which was not previously possible. Both a rigid mold (22) and a flexible mold (104) can be utilized. The mixing pot (24) includes a mixer 38 preferably embodied by a rotatable screw (74) that is moved axially to purge the mixing chamber (26) of foam after each cycle. A plurality of the mixing pots (24) can be used to supplyy foam to the mold (22a,22b), such that foam of the same composition is supplied to the mold (22a) as is necessary with large molds, or such that foam of different compositions is supplied to the mold (22b) as is necessary with certain foam products.
