Abstract:
A grinding unit is provided, which includes an elongated body, a top cap, a bottom cap, a grinding lever, and a supporting sleeve. The supporting sleeve surrounds the elongated body and includes a support channel. The support channel is structured so that the grinding lever can be removably affixed to the support channel with a friction fit.

A substrate processing apparatus includes a polisher configured to polish a substrate using a polishing liquid, a first cleaner configured to clean the substrate polished by the polisher using sulfuric acid and hydrogen peroxide water, a second cleaner configured to clean the substrate cleaned by the first cleaner using a basic chemical liquid and hydrogen peroxide water, and a drier configured to dry the substrate cleaned by the second cleaner.
Abstract:
Provided is a grinding method capable of preventing variation in the outer diameter of a processed object 1 at the completion of grinding regardless of change in the amount of elastic deformation of the processed object 1 based on the change in the cutting ability of a grindstone 4. The outer diameter D of the processed object 1 during grinding is measured by gauge heads 5 in process. Plural target values Di that differ from each other are set for the outer diameter D of the processed object 1, and first threshold values are set for the rate of change of the outer diameter D of the processed object for each of these target values Di. Spark out is started when the outer diameter D of the processed object 1 becomes equal to a target value Di and the absolute value of the rate of change v is greater than a first threshold value that corresponds to the target value Di.
Abstract:
A fast braking device for a grinding machine installed in a grinding machine with a spindle comprises: an electromagnet element closely neighbors an inner braking disc; the electromagnet element and the inner braking disc are jointly fixed on the grinding machine. An outer braking disc is separated from the electromagnet element by a lining plate and axially slidably installed on the electromagnet element. Elastic elements are arranged in between the inner braking disc and the outer braking disc. The lining plate rotates synchronously with the spindle. When the user intends to stop the operation of the grinding machine, the electromagnet element provides magnetic force to make the inner and the outer braking discs clamp the lining plate to fast brake the spindle of the grinding machine. Then, the elastic elements separate the outer braking disc from the inner braking disc, and the spindle of the grinding machine can rotate again.
Abstract:
The device has a rotating grinding surface and a receptacle into which a spinning cot to be ground is inserted. The receptacle is advanced in a direction toward the grinding surface until the spinning cot inserted into the receptacle contacts the grinding surface. A size determination device for determining the size of the spinning cot is provided, wherein the size determination device has distance sensors and a computing unit for deriving the size of the spinning cot. The distance sensors operate with measuring beams that have an orientation such that the measuring beams impinge on an outer peripheral surface of the spinning cot inserted into the receptacle on at least three points that are spaced apart from one another in a circumferential direction of the spinning cot.
Abstract:
A centerless grinding machine comprises a stationary disk, a following disk, and a shoe, which cooperate to hold and rotate a workpiece. The following disk is mechanically loaded to the bias towards the stationary disk and the shoe so that the workpiece is secured between an outer circumference of the disks and the shoe. A diameter detector detects an outside diameter of the workpiece by detecting a displacement of the following disk by the workpiece. From this information, a controller controls an X-Z grinder to grind an inner surface of the workpiece. This grinding is in response to the outside detector detected by the diameter detector. As a result, the inner diameter can be machines to closer tolerances than are available in the outer diameter.
Abstract:
A centerless grinding machine of the type in which a work piece rests in a pair of yokes and is rotated by a driving wheel, in which the driving wheel is mounted on an arm pivoted to enable the driving wheel to be moved into and out of engagement with the work piece, with the arm having an adjustable weight for varying the pressure of the driving wheel against the work piece.
Abstract:
An automatic blade changer for the work rest structure of a centerless grinder. The different sized blades are stored in a rack that moves on signal to present the blade that is called for to a pick up mechanism on a swingable blade carrier. The pick up mechanism withdraws the blade from the rack after which the carrier moves through an arc to position the blade above the work rest structure. The pick up mechanism then deposits the blade in the work rest structure, the latter having releasable clamping means to secure the blade therein. To return the blade to the storage rack the sequence of operations is reversed.
