摘要: A plasma cutting system for measuring or monitoring the voltage between a plasma torch and the material being cut to determine a voltage or voltage signature and comparing that measurement against predetermined values to indicate that an initial pierce of the material is complete, and based on the measurement, moving the torch or the material to a different location for additional cutting. The system further provides a Fix Drawing Tool, which will automatically detect and fix gaps or overlaps in a drawing that are very difficult to find visually. These gaps and overlaps become a problem when trying to make a proper toolpath because a CAM program requires a clean, closed shape. The system also provides a Dynamic Corner Looping system, which automatically adjusts with the feed-rate and accelerations of the toolpath and plasma machine, eliminates unwanted dross, sharpens corners and minimizes material loss. A pendant tethering system is also disclosed for managing control of a CNC machine remotely. Additional disclosed functionality includes a data collection system, a manual hand wheel with 3D simulation and a multiple fabrication head management system.

摘要: A moveable head of a computer numerically controlled machine may deliver electromagnetic energy sufficient to cause a first change in a material at least partially contained within an interior space of the CNC machine. A feature of the material may be imaged using at least one camera present inside the interior space to update a position of the material, and the moveable head may be aligned to deliver electromagnetic energy sufficient to cause a second change in the material such that the second change is positioned on the material consistent with the first change and with an intended final appearance of the material. Methods, systems, and article of manufacture are described.

摘要: A separator apparatus is provided for a cutting machine which separates chips from coolant, wherein the separator includes a fluid chamber into which an airborne mixture of chips and coolant driven by an airflow enters via an entry port, the separator apparatus being configured to: sufficiently slow the speed of the airborne mixture once inside the chamber so that the chips and coolant separate out from the airflow; retain the chips and coolant released from the airborne mixture in the fluid chamber; and allow air from the airborne mixture to exit the fluid chamber via an air outlet; wherein the fluid chamber includes a chip collector which captures the chips and enables the chips to be separated and removed from the coolant in the chamber; and wherein the fluid chamber includes a coolant outlet through which coolant, from which the chips have been removed, is able to exit.

摘要: The present disclosure generally relates to additive manufacturing systems and methods on a large-scale format. One aspect involves a build unit that can be moved around in three dimensions by a positioning system, building separate portions of a large object. The build unit has an energy directing device that directs, e.g., laser or e-beam irradiation onto a powder layer. In the case of laser irradiation, the build volume may have a gasflow device that provides laminar gas flow to a laminar flow zone above the layer of powder. This allows for efficient removal of the smoke, condensates, and other impurities produced by irradiating the powder (the “gas plume”) without excessively disturbing the powder layer. The build unit may also have a recoater that allows it to selectively deposit particular quantities of powder in specific locations over a work surface to build large, high quality, high precision objects.

The forecast can include expected sensor data for the sensor, over a course of an execution plan for making a cut with a movable laser cutting head. The sensor data can be generated during execution of the execution plan. During execution of the execution plan, the sensor data can be monitored and a deviation of from the forecast can be detected. It can be determined, based on the detecting, that an anomalous condition of the computer numerically controlled machine has occurred. Based on the determining, an action can be performed.

摘要: Scarfing machine (1) for scarfing hot and cold work pieces (2), such as slabs, blooms and billets made from steel in and downstream of continuous casting plants with a roller table (3) arranged in the direction of transport of the work piece, on which the work piece (2) to be scarfed can be moved back and forth. The scarfing machine (1) is set up in a gap (4) formed in the roller table (3) which has a U-shaped beam (7) with a scarfing unit (10) in the form of a rack of manifolds arranged crosswise to the roller table (3). The height of the burner beam (7) can be adjusted and it can be pivoted approximately 180° on a horizontal axis (8) around the top, bottom and cut sides of the work piece (2) by means of a swivelling drive (6) while the work piece is moved back and forth.
