    摘要: A processing line material clear out devices and methods are disclosed. The device is particularly useful for clearing metal billets from induction heating units, but may be used for many other processes having sequentially ordered materials traveling down a conveyor or other processing line. In one example of the invention, a reciprocating push rod rack is used to sequentially deposit and remove at least two push rods used to abut and clear the downstream billets. A push rod advance device is used to interlink independent, sequential push rods positioned on the billet track. On clearing of the billets, the push rods are retracted, removed from the billet track and stored on the push rod rack for ready use.

    摘要: A stock feed and cutter system for forging machines and the like in which stationary grippers and linearly movable grippers alternately grip rod or wire stock. The movable grippers reciprocate toward and away from the stationary grippers and operate to feed the stock without slippage a precise distance into a cutter. A stock gage is therefore not required and an optimum cutter structure can be provided even for very short workpieces. After each feed operation, the cutter shears a workpiece from the end of the stock, which is subsequently formed to a desired shape. A running adjustment is provided for the reciprocating grippers so that the machine operator can adjust the length of the workpiece produced while the machine is running. A short blank detector independently measures the length of stock being fed and is connected to cause rejection of such short blank. The grippers operate without slippage and, in cooperation with the cutter, produce very uniform workpieces.

    摘要: Apparatus for the continuous shearing off and cold swaging of metal workpieces, particularly wire material, comprises a device (1') for feeding the material (5), a pivotable shearing device (2), a slide (1) for swaging the sheared-off part, and a die-studded chuck (31). These components are arranged so that they are distributed in the machine frame (11) along the sides of a U. These components can all be driven by a motor (4) via a conventional drive. Feeding of the material (5) in the direction of the chuck (31) takes place with intermittent motion and in synchronism with the movements of the described components of the machine. The production output of finished parts is greatly increased by the chosen arrangement, the intermittent feeding of the material, and the pivotability of the cutter. The slide has a holder (37) for a plurality of tools in sockets (43, 44, 45 or 43', 45'). These sockets, and the axis of the material, lie on an imaginary circle that is of the same diameter as and coaxial with an imaginary circle on which the dies (30) on the chuck lie. Each of those sockets, and the material, is aligned with a respective one of the dies in every stopped position of the chuck, so that a tool held by the slide will strike a shorn-off workpiece every stroke of the slide.
