Abstract:
Sorting of produce, such as date palm fruit is achieve by receiving the unsorted fruit, using a plurality of sensors capable of sensing data for determining characteristics of the produce according to criteria comprising size, moisture or moisture content, and color. A control and evaluation unit, responsive to the sensed data, determines the characteristics of the produce and identifies each item of produce according to the characteristics as one of the predetermined categories. An air jet sorter is used to selectively divert the produce to the different ones of the output bins or ports according to the identified category for that produce.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided for sorting items to a plurality of sort destinations. The items are fed into the apparatus at an input station having a scanning station. The scanning station evaluates one or more characteristics of each item. The items are then loaded onto one of a plurality of independently controlled delivery vehicles. The delivery vehicles are individually driven to sort destinations. Once at the appropriate sort destination, the delivery vehicle ejects the item to the sort destination and returns to receive another item to be delivered. A re-induction conveyor may be provided for receiving select items from the vehicles and conveying the items back to the input station for re-processing. Additionally, a controller is provided to control the movement of the vehicles based on a characteristic each item being delivered by each vehicle. The system may also include vehicles having edge-detection assemblies for detecting items being loaded onto or discharged from the vehicles.

The invention relates to a device for comminuting and sorting polycrystalline silicon, comprising an instrument for feeding a coarse polysilicon fraction into a crushing system, the crushing system associated with a sorting system for classifying the polysilicon fraction, wherein the device is provided with a controller which allows variable adjustment of at least one crushing parameter in the crushing system and/or at least one sorting parameter in the sorting system.
Abstract:
A method and system are provided for inspecting manufactured parts such as cartridges and cartridge cases and sorting the inspected parts. The system includes an illumination assembly for evenly illuminating a plurality of annular, exterior side surfaces of a part when the part is located in a circumference vision station with rings of strobed radiation to generate corresponding reflected radiation signals. A plurality of imaging detectors in the form of CCD cameras are located at the vision station to generate a plurality of side images. The system further includes at least one side image processor for processing the side images of each part to identify parts having an unacceptable defect. The system further includes a mechanism for directing parts identified as having an unacceptable defect to a defective part area and directing parts not identified as having an unacceptable defect to an acceptable part area.
Abstract:
Apparatus is described for checking articles on a conveyor and for removing oversize ones. The articles pass between a fixed feeler and push out a swinging feeler. If the swinging feeler is pushed too far, indicating an oversize article, this is detected and the respective article subsequently removed from the conveyor. The apparatus is particularly for use with glass containers.
Abstract:
Systems for autonomously batching a plurality of separated laundry articles into sorted loads for washing and drying are described. For example, each one of a plurality of collection bins is configured to receive a sorted load of separated articles including at least one common one of one or more washing and drying characteristics. A plurality of conveyors are configured to receive thereon the bins and position one bin into a loading position adjacent to an exit orifice of a sorting surface. At least one sensor disposed at least one of on, adjacent to, and within the surface is configured to detect the washing and drying characteristics. A controller in operable communication with a drive of the plurality of conveyors and the at least one sensor is configured to instruct the conveyors to move the bins to batch each separated laundry article into a bin matching the washing and drying characteristics.
