摘要: Methods, structures, devices and systems are disclosed for implementing a photothermal therapy using nanostructures. In one aspect, a device to produce a photothermal effect includes a particle having a molecular layer functionalized onto the external surface of the particle and structured to attach to one or more targeting molecules capable of binding to a receptor site of a cell, in which the particle is configured to absorb light energy at a particular wavelength to produce a plasmon resonance effect that causes the particle to emit heat energy. In some implementations, the device is deployed in an organism having a tumor that includes a plurality of the cell and binds to the receptor site of the tumor by the targeting molecules, in which the light energy is emitted at a region of the organism that contains the tumor and the heat energy causes cellular death of the tumor cell.

摘要: A pressure sensitive adhesive sheet is provided, containing a substrate or a release material having thereon a resin layer including a resin part (X) containing as a main component a hydrocarbon resin having a carbon atom on a main chain of a structural unit, and a particle part (Y) consisting of fine particles containing silica particles, and at least a surface (α) of the resin layer being opposite to the side of the substrate or being opposite to the side which the release material is provided, having pressure sensitive adhesiveness, the resin layer containing a multilayer structure having a layer (Xα) and a layer (Y1) in this order in the thickness direction from the side of the surface (α), in a measurement of an intensity ratio (Si/C) of a peak intensity (Si) derived from a silicon atom and a peak intensity (C) derived from a carbon atom with an energy dispersive X-ray analyzer in the thickness direction from the side of the surface (α) of the resin layer, the intensity ratio in the layer (Xα) being less than 0.10, and the intensity ratio in the layer (Y1) being 0.10 or more, the surface (α) having concave portions of irregular shapes.

摘要: A system and method for applying a coating to a surface. The coating can include any typical coating, but in some examples includes a styrenated acrylic coating. The coating is first applied. Thereafter, a quick-set formula which includes a brine solution is applied atop the first coating. The quick-set formula sets the first coating. Thereafter, a second coating, or multiple coatings, can be applied atop the first coating. Due to the quick-set formula, the second coating can be applied in less than 15 minutes.

摘要: A method of manufacturing a composite film, the method including: preparing a coating liquid including a resin and a filler and having a viscosity of from 0.1 Pa·s to 5.0 Pa·s: removing aggregates contained in the coating liquid by making the coating liquid pass through a filter having a minimum pore diameter that is larger than a maximum particle diameter of the aggregates; applying the coating liquid that has been subjected to the aggregate removal on one surface or both surfaces of a porous substrate, to form a coating layer; and solidifying the resin contained in the coating layer, to obtain a composite film including: the porous substrate; and a porous layer that is formed on one surface or both surfaces of the porous substrate and that contains the resin and the filler.

摘要: There are described a dispersion of polymeric beads where the beads comprise a copolymer composition comprising (preferably consisting essentially of): copolymers (and processes for making them) comprising (a) at least 8.5 wt-% preferably >=20 wt-% of a higher itaconate diester (preferably dibutyl itaconate—DBI); (b) less than 23 wt-% acid monomer but also sufficient to have an acid value less than 150 mg KOH/g of polymer, (c) optionally with less than 50 wt-% of other itaconate monomers, and (d) optionally less than 77 wt-% of other monomers not (a) to (c). The DBI may be biorenewable. A further embodiment is an aqueous suspension polymerization process for preparing vinyl polymer beads from olefinically unsaturated monomers and a free-radical initiator, where at least 10 wt-% of the monomer is DBI.
