Abstract:
An irrigation nozzle is provided with a grit diversion feature to divert grit away from the interior of the nozzle. The nozzle includes a pattern template that defines the irrigation pattern produced by the nozzle. The pattern template includes one or more flow channels that may be susceptible to clogging with grit. The grit diversion feature includes one or more grit vents to redirect grit away from the interior of the nozzle and may further include an inner wall about the central hub that helps protect the central hub from intrusion by grit.
Abstract:
A rotary sprinkler including a rotatable nozzle turret with automatic matched precipitation to an arc of rotation, a nozzle purge feature, and/or a flow shut off valve coupled to a variable flow nozzle outlet.
Abstract:
A water purification system having an oil and vapor separation subsystem for removing many heavy duty and toxic contaminants from the water. The subsystem removes volatile vapors from the feed water, heats the feed water, and by imparting a swirling vortex action to the heated water, the oils are separated from the water. The water separated from the oil is pumped by a high pressure pump through a helical coil that is heated to a high temperature by the burner. The high temperature, hot water is then fed to an expansion nozzle in an expansion chamber to flash the hot water into steam. The steam is passed through a condenser which converts the steam to purified water.
Abstract:
An expansion nozzle adapted for use in high pressure, high temperature conditions. The expansion nozzle uses spring compression to operate under constant pressure conditions to efficiently flash hot water into steam. A motor can be employed to automatically adjust the extent of compression of the spring during the flashing operation, to thereby adjust the pressure of the liquid applied to the nozzle. In addition, the expansion nozzle can be equipped with a mechanism to allow cleaning or lapping of the orifice surfaces without disassembly of the expansion nozzle assembly.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for painting a surface are disclosed. The method includes securing a track relative to a surface to be painted. A traveling control unit is mounted to the track. The spray head is suspended from the traveling control unit and in front of the surface to be painted. The spray head is moved relative to the surface by moving the traveling control unit along the track to move the spray head along a first painting axis and moving the spray head relative to the control unit along a second painting axis. A painting plan for a design to be painted is executed by emitting a spray of paint from the spray head at various coordinates. An image of the surface can be scanned and overlayed with a virtual representation of the design for evaluation prior to painting.
Abstract:
A nozzle device for sorting objects by ejecting a gaseous media towards said object. The nozzle device nozzle device including: a nozzle unit including at least one nozzle; a nozzle bar including gas supply means for providing a gaseous media to said nozzle unit; and a nozzle fixation bracket adapted for holding said nozzle unit in place; said at least one nozzle including: an inlet for receiving the gaseous media; and having one outlet, having an outlet area, for ejecting the gaseous media towards an object to be sorted; a channel extending between said inlet and said outlet; an outlet portion surrounding at least said outlet, wherein said outlet portion includes a flexible material, which deflects upon ejection of the gaseous media, received from said nozzle bar, through said outlet whereby said outlet area increases. Also, a system for sorting objects.
Abstract:
In a water processing system in which a buildup in the components is experienced, an abrasive can be injected into the system to move the liquid/abrasive mixture therethrough to remove the residue and other material that has build up on the inside surfaces of the components. The liquid/abrasive mixture can be pumped with a high pressure, and with an elevated temperature, to facilitate removal of the residue.
Abstract:
A self-cleaning water nozzle uses specially configured nozzle halves to allow for self-cleaning, easy access to the nozzle components, and forming a hollow cone spray. The nozzle halves have grooves in side faces thereof, which when the nozzle halves are mated, the grooves form a spiral path for water to travel through the nozzle halves and form the hollow cone spray.
Abstract:
A self-cleaning water nozzle uses a washer and a threaded outlet cap to allow for self-cleaning and easy access to the nozzle components. The threaded outlet cap permits the nozzle components to be accessed without having to remove the nozzle housing from a water supply line. The washer provides a pivot point for halves of the nozzle assembly in the nozzle housing to separate for the self-cleaning action.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a nozzle device including a housing (1) having an inlet for a fluid and an orifice for spraying out a firm jet of fluid (38), which orifice is delimited by two or more members, at least one of which is movable relative to the other one between a first position in which the orifice has a minimal cross-section area in order to spray out the fluid in a firm jet in a forward direction from the housing, and a second position in which the orifice is widened in order to be flushed clean by means of a coarse stream of fluid. According to the invention, a cap (2) is arranged in front of the orifice, said cap having two or more shield walls (16, 17) in which there are holes (20, 21) through which the firm jet of fluid (38), but not the coarse stream of flushing fluid, may pass.
