Abstract: The valve cover has a guide vane extending laterally and downwardly from the central portion towards and in spaced relation to the tray deck for deflecting a majority of the vapor passing upwardly through an orifice downward towards the tray deck. A de-entrainment device with a downwardly angled deflector in vertical alignment with an orifice in the tray deck may be integrated or not with the valve cover below the tray deck.

Abstract: The disclosure provides an ozone contact tank, which includes a water inlet gallery (1), an aeration gallery (2), a water distribution zone (3), a reaction zone (4) and a water outlet trough (5) which are disposed according to the intake order and are communicated in sequence; the top of the water inlet gallery (1) is communicated with the top of the aeration gallery (2); the bottom of the aeration gallery (2) is communicated with a water inlet end of the water distribution zone (3) via a narrow passage (6); the top of the water distribution zone (3) is communicated with the bottom of the reaction zone (4) via a perforated plate (41); the top of the reaction zone (4) is communicated with the water outlet trough (5). The disclosure also provides an ozone contact method using the ozone contact tank, which can greatly improve the disinfection effect.

Abstract: Equipment for massive dissolution of gases in liquids via the formation of thin liquid films and the exchange of gases with said films. The equipment provides movement of liquids over great distances via the upward movement of bubbles therein. The equipment can alter the direction of the flow of water, said aspect being useful for the recovery of liquid bodies. In addition to providing a high rate of dissolution of gases in liquids, the equipment is very energy-efficient and has a very large volumetric capacity, thereby being useful for the preservation and/or recovery of liquid bodies, being able, in certain applications, to operate in an energy-autonomous manner. The equipment can be used in situations where energy-efficient dissolution of gases in liquids is desired, such as the preservation and/or recovery of liquid bodies; processes for preserving and/or improving the productivity of aquaculture systems; wastewater treatment systems; and the fixation of gases.

Abstract: A device for distributing and dispersing highly pressurized air-saturated water, preferably for use in a flotation tank (1) of a water purification plant, is placed adjacent to inlet openings (2) through which water to be treated in the flotation tank (1) passes. The distribution and dispersion device includes a pre-dispenser (27, 28) which is arranged in a distribution pipe (21, 22) or its supply conduit (24), and which includes a perforated pipe mounted, preferably, coaxially in the distribution pipe or the supply conduit. Air-saturated water passes through the perforations or throttling holes (26) resulting in a first pressure decrease and subsequent dispersion. The water then passes to the distribution pipe (22) from which it passes through one or more openings (23) in the wall of the distribution pipe (22), and is forced out the flotation tank (1) during a further decrease in pressure and dispersion of the water.

Abstract: This invention provides improved methods and apparatus for dissolving oxygen in wastewater treatment processes such as is required to satisfy the biological oxygen demand in the activated sludge process for the biodegradation of organic impurities. The invention enables attainment of high concentrations of dissolved oxygen with minimum consumption of oxygen and power. Wastewater with the high concentration of dissolved oxygen may be mixed with a larger volume of untreated wastewater to achieve the desired oxygen concentration and maintain volatile solids in suspension in the bulk liquid for optimum efficiency of purification.

Abstract: A contact tray for use in a mass transfer column and having a tray deck for receiving a liquid stream and a plurality of valves distributed across the tray deck through which vapor ascends for interacting with the liquid stream. Each valve has an opening in the tray deck in the form of a central segment and extensions that extend outwardly from opposite ends of the central segment. The valves each include a valve body with a valve cover positioned in covering relationship above and extending outwardly beyond the opening and legs that are attached to the valve cover at recesses located at opposite ends of the valve cover. The legs extend downwardly through the extensions in the opening and include stops in portions of the legs positioned below the tray deck to permit limited vertical movement of the legs to allow the valve body to move between open and closed positions in response to ascending vapor pressure against an undersurface of the valve cover. Deflectors are positioned at opposite sides of the legs to restrict vapor passage around the legs.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide various apparatus and methods. In some embodiments, an apparatus is provided for mixing a gas with a liquid. The apparatus may include a pipe having two ends. The pipe may provide a main fluid path and may have an interior surface having a first groove. The apparatus may also include a helical vane disposed inside the pipe. The vane may have a first projecting tongue that engages the first groove. The apparatus may also include a gas injection port on the pipe adapted to inject gas into the fluid path upstream of the helical vane. In some embodiments, the helical vane may be a 3D printed component.

Abstract: This is an improved impingement jet aeration having steps of airlifting water in the body of the aerator and issuing a water jet into the body of water being aerated, wherein the efficiency of these two steps is greater than the sum of these step.
