摘要: Device (100) for cleaning grey water containing particulate material, comprising a contain-er (101) in turn comprising a water entry (102); a water exit (103); and a slanted separation wall (150,160) separating an upstream sedimentation volume (120,130) of said container from a downstream sedimentation volume (130,140) of said container, the separation wall comprising a through channel (151,161) having a lower outlet (153,163), via which water can flow, by gravity, from said upstream sedimentation volume to said downstream sedimentation volume. The invention is characterised in that the container further comprises a flocculant provi-sion means (110), arranged to add a flocculant (112) to grey water entering via the water entry, so that grey water having entered said upstream sedimentation volume after such adding contains said flocculant, and in that said lower outlet is shaped to direct a flow of water flowing downwards through the through channel obliquely upwards upon entry into the downstream sedimentation volume. The invention also relates to a method.

摘要: A system includes a sparger and a gas supply for paint sludge separation in a tank containing a mixture of paint and liquid. The tank has an open upper end for moving paint sludge out of the tank. The sparger includes a gas inlet tube fluidically connected to an enclosure hood, the inlet tube projecting downwardly into the tank to a tube outlet. The enclosure hood has a closed upper end that radially encloses the tube outlet and extends downwardly to an open lower end to define an interior volume between the upper and lower ends. The lower end defines a peripheral rim with a diameter greater than a diameter of the enclosure hood at the closed upper end. The gas supply feeds the gas inlet tube of the sparger, and has a pressure that forms a gas pocket within the interior volume of the enclosure hood that extends from the tube outlet to the peripheral rim such that portions of the gas pocket pass over the peripheral rim and form gas bubbles which rise through the mixture towards the open upper end of the tank.

摘要: An apparatus and method for treatment of waste water, comprising a tank for receiving a waste water influent via an influent pump and discharging a treated waste water effluent via an effluent pump; a screen decanter disposed in the tank, the screen having a pore size of about 50 micrometers; and a timer operationally connected to the floating decanter and the effluent pump. Solids are settled from the waste water and drawn off through the tank bottom after a supernatant fluid is drawn off through the floating screen decanter. The supernatant fluid may be passed through a filtration and membrane water purification apparatus to generate purified water.

摘要: A mechanical separator for separating a fluid sample into first and second phases within a collection container is disclosed. The mechanical separator may have a separator body having a through-hole defined therein, with the through-hole adapted for allowing fluid to pass therethrough. The separator body includes a float, having a first density, and a ballast, having a second density greater than the first density. A portion of the float is connected to a portion of the ballast. Optionally, the float may include a first extended tab adjacent a first opening of the through-hole and a second extended tab adjacent the second opening of the through-hole. In certain configurations, the separator body also includes an extended tab band disposed about an outer surface of the float. The separator body may also include an engagement band circumferentially disposed about at least a portion of the separator body.

摘要: One system embodiment includes: an inlet sensor that measures a fluid quality of an input fluid stream; an arrangement of separation units operating to extract contaminants from the fluid stream; and a user interface (UI). Each separation unit produces a respective output fluid stream, exhibiting a performance that is impacted by a respective operating parameter, and has an outlet sensor that measures an output fluid stream quality. The UI receives fluid quality measurements from the inlet and the outlet sensors, responsively derives a performance value for each separation unit and an overall performance value for the arrangement, and displays each of the performance values. The UI may further set the operating parameter values to automate and optimize the operation of the arrangement for different drilling conditions. The fluid quality measurements may indicate contaminant concentrations, and the performance values may account for separation efficiency, energy consumption, reliability, and next service date.

摘要: One or more dilution tubes for increasing the dilution of pulp as it enters a thickener are provided. One or more pipes, referred to here as dilution tubes, can be added to sides of a feed pipe of a thickener. One end of a dilution tube can open to a tank of the thickener, and the other end can open into the feed pipe. As pulp flows through the feed pipe, low pressure suction can be created that pulls water from the tank, through the dilution tube, and into the feed pipe. The water pulled in through the dilution tube can increase the dilution of the pulp. A highly diluted pulp can contact a flocculent efficiently and lead to a high settling rate in a thickener. Accordingly, the use of dilution tubes can increase the efficiency of a thickener.

摘要: A stormwater filter comprising: a vessel having an inlet and an outlet; and a screen disposed within the vessel and arranged to divide at least part of the vessel into an upper section and a lower section. The stormwater filter further comprises: a flow splitter positioned adjacent the inlet of the vessel and/or a substantially vertical screen disposed adjacent the outlet in the upper section of the vessel. The flow splitter comprises an inclined leading edge and first and second deflecting surfaces extending from the leading edge. The first and second deflecting surfaces are angled relative to one another so as to direct incoming flow laterally away from an axis between the inlet and the outlet. The vertical screen comprises first and second screen portions which are angled relative to one another. The first and second screen portions are each hingedly connected to the vessel and are detachably coupled to one another at their distal ends.
