摘要: Ethylene oxide purification by quenching and washing ethylene oxide reactor effluent prior to passing the gaseous ethylene oxide-containing stream to an ethylene oxide absorber to form a dilute aqueous ethylene oxide and carbon dioxide solution and thereafter stripping that solution in an EO stripper to produce a gaseous ethylene oxide and carbon dioxide-containing overhead vapor which is then passed to a reabsorber wherein the ethylene oxide and part of the carbon dioxide vapors are absorbed to form an aqueous reabsorbate solution from which carbon dioxide is removed to produce an ethylene oxide-containing solution is improved by passing an impurities-containing liquid bleed stream obtained from the quench wash to a second, small quench bleed stripper where steam and carbon dioxide are added and gaseous overhead from that quench bleed stripper is passed to the reabsorber for recovery of the EO and removal of formaldehyde and other impurities.

摘要: Provided are a separation tower and method for treating condensed water. In order to overcome the defects that an apparatus has high investment and energy consumption and requires high safety due to the need to use an organic phase as an extractant, the present disclosure provides a separation tower for treating condensed water. The water separation tower includes a tower body. Evaporation units for purifying the condensed water are disposed in the tower body. A final-effect condensation unit is disposed below the evaporation units and connected with a vacuum pump. The present disclosure has the following beneficial effects: 1) the gravity is used, thereby omitting an intermediate pump and saving the power cost and a matching control system; 2) a pressure difference between every two effect evaporation units is designed, and heat energy provided by a first-effect evaporation unit is continuously evaporated to achieve separation, so that subsequent effect evaporation units do not require external heat sources; and 3) the degree of integration is high, the sealing property is good, a vacuum is easy to realize, a subsequent vacuum system is small, the energy consumption is low, a device is small in occupied area, the construction and installation cost is low, and the operation is simple.

摘要: A multistage flash (MSF) desalination system is described. The MSF desalination system comprises a feed tank, a brine heater (BH), an MSF tower with n number of stages, n−1 number of condensers each with an inlet and an outlet, and a desalinated water tank. Herein, the feed tank is connected to a first pump, which is connected to the BH; the MSF tower comprises a stepped pyramid shape with n number of connected chambers. The n number of stages each contains at least one flash spray nozzle and a demister. The flash spray nozzles are fluidly connected to drainage of the previous stage, with the flash spray nozzle in the first stage connected to the BH. Further, the condensers are connected to the demisters in n−1 stages and to the next condenser, with the last condenser connected to a second pump, which is connected to the desalinated water tank.

摘要: A compact and portable liquid concentrator includes a gas inlet, a gas exit and a flow corridor connecting the gas inlet and the gas exit, wherein the flow corridor includes a narrowed portion that accelerates the gas through the flow corridor. A liquid inlet injects liquid into the gas stream at a point prior to the narrowed portion so that the gas-liquid mixture is thoroughly mixed within the flow corridor, causing a portion of the liquid to be evaporated. A demister or fluid scrubber downstream of the narrowed portion removes entrained liquid droplets from the gas stream and re-circulates the removed liquid to the liquid inlet through a re-circulating circuit. Fresh liquid to be concentrated is also introduced into the re-circulating circuit at a rate sufficient to offset the amount of liquid evaporated in the flow corridor.

摘要: A desalination system that can comprise an inlet, an optional preheating stage, multiple evaporation chambers and optional demisters, product condensers, a waste outlet, one or more product outlets, a nested configuration that facilitates heat transfer and recovery and a control system. The control system can permit operation of the purification system continuously with minimal user intervention or cleaning. The desalination system can operate with any number of pre-treatment methods for descaling, and with degassing systems to eliminate or reduce hydrocarbons and dissolved gases. The system is capable of removing, from a contaminated water sample, a plurality of contaminant types including microbiological contaminants, radiological contaminants, metals, and salts.

摘要: A system and method for dehydrating crude oil on a floating production storage and offloading installation include a separator vessel to receive an incoming produced water stream, followed by a flash vessel, a treatment block, a crude oil storage tank, and an electrostatic treater. The treatment block includes a low pressure degasser followed by a compact electrostatic separator pre-treater or a compact electrostatic separator pre-treater followed by a low pressure degasser. The flash vessel and/or the low pressure degasser may employ an inlet cyclonic distributor and demisting cyclones, while the electrostatic treater may employ DUAL FREQUENCY® technology. The separator vessel may be a single horizontal two-phase separator/degasser or two vertical two-phase separator/degassers that operate in parallel with each receiving approximately 50 percent of the incoming produced water stream. The final outlet stream preferably contains no more than 0.5 BS&W and 285 milligrams per liter salt.
