Abstract: A system and method for non-invasively generating a report of cardiac electrical activities of a subject includes determining, using cardiac electrical activation information, equivalent current densities (ECDs). The ECDs are assembled into time-course ECD information and a spectrum of the time-course ECD information is analyzed to determine peaks for spectral characteristics of atrial fibrillation (AF). The spectral characteristics of AF are correlated with potential electrical sources of the AF and a report is generated indicating the potential electrical sources of the AF spatially registered with the medical imaging data.

Abstract: A system and method for a multi-function remote ambulatory cardiac monitoring system. The system includes a housing and a microprocessor disposed within the housing. The microprocessor controls the remote ambulatory cardiac monitoring system. The system also includes an electrode for sensing ECG signals and the electrode being in communication with the microprocessor. An integrated cellular module also is included in the system, and the cellular module is connected to the microprocessor and disposed within the housing. The integrated cellular module transmits ECG signals to a remote center.

Abstract: A wearable medical monitoring (WMM) system may be worn for a long time. Some embodiments of WMM systems are wearable cardioverter defibrillator (WCD) systems. In such systems, ECG electrodes sense an ECG signal of the patient, and store it over the long-term. The stored ECG signal can be analyzed for helping long-term heart rate monitoring of the patient. The heart rate monitoring can be assisted a) by special filtering techniques that remove short-term variations inherent in patients' short-term heart rate determinations, and b) by indication techniques that indicate when conditions hampered sensing of the ECG signal too much for a reliable heart rate determination.

Abstract: Disclosed is an ECG sensor having a packaging label form factor. The ECG sensor may comprise a set of electrodes configured to sense heart-related electrical activity when in contact with skin of a user and produce electrocardiogram (ECG) waveforms representing the sensed heart-related electrical activity. The ECG sensor may further comprise a processor configured to: identify, using a machine learning model, the user based on the ECG waveforms, convert the ECG waveforms to a modulated signal that carries the ECG waveforms representing the sensed heart-related electrical activity, and transmit the modulated signal wirelessly to a computing device using a transmitter. The ECG sensor may also comprise a housing having a first layer and a second layer, wherein the set of electrodes, the processor, and the transmitter are all disposed between the first layer and the second layer of the housing, and wherein the housing has a packaging-label form factor.

Abstract: Systems and methods for calibrating an orientation of an implantable device in a patient is described. An exemplary system includes a calibration circuit that can receive acceleration information sensed from an implantable medical device (IMD) implanted in a patient, and receive reference acceleration information sensed from a reference device associated with the patient. The acceleration information and the reference acceleration information are acquired when the patient assumes a first posture or in a first position. The calibration circuit determines a spatial relationship between an orientation of the IMD and a reference orientation of the reference device using the received acceleration information and the received reference acceleration information, and calibrate subsequent acceleration information sensed from the IMD using the determined spatial relationship to correct for the orientation of the IMD.

Abstract: An apparatus for generating ECG recordings and a method for using the same are disclosed. The apparatus includes a handheld device having four electrodes on an outer surface thereof, the handheld device having an extended configuration and a storage configuration. The apparatus also includes a controller configured to measure signals between the electrodes to provide signals that are used to generate an ECG recording selected from the group consisting of standard lead traces and precordial traces. When the handheld device is in the extended configuration and the first and second electrodes contact a first hand of a patient such that the first and second electrodes contact different locations on the first hand, the third electrode is in contact with a location on the patient's other hand and the fourth electrode contacts a point on the patient's body that depends on the particular trace being measured.

A variety of methods and apparatuses can be used for the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias by identifying the location of an arrhythmia source and ablating that source. The methods and apparatuses can provide an improved means of electrical mapping of the heart to identify the location of the arrhythmia source and advancing an ablation electrode to that location so that it may be ablated.
