Abstract: Detecting user contact with one or more electrodes of a physiological signal sensor can be used to ensure physiological signals measured by the physiological signal sensor meet waveform characteristics (e.g., of a clinically accurate physiological signal). In some examples, a mobile and/or wearable device can comprise sensing circuitry, stimulation circuitry, and processing circuitry. The stimulation circuit can drive one or more stimulation signals on one or more electrodes, the resulting signal(s) can be measured (e.g., by the sensing circuitry), and the processing circuitry can determine whether a user is in contact with the electrode(s). Additionally or alternatively, in some examples, mobile and/or wearable device can comprise saturation detection circuitry, and the processing circuitry can determine whether the sensing circuitry is saturated.

Abstract: An ECG device may include a housing, a plurality of leads coupled with the housing, and couplers configured to attach the leads to electrodes. A marking switch may be coupled with the housing. The ECG device may be configured to monitor cardiac-related activity and record related data. The marking switch may be configured to record a heart-related event when engaged by a user. User interfaces on one or more computing devices may allow a clinician and/or a patient to view information related to the ECG device and its recorded data, as well as to facilitate communication between the ECG device and one or more servers and to associate symptoms with heart-related events. ECG systems include the ECG device and the one or more servers. ECG methods involve using the ECG device and ECG system in recording and storing heart-related data and allowing clinicians access to retrieve it for analysis.

Abstract: A wearable cardioverter defibrillator system includes a support structure that a patient can wear. The system also includes electrodes that contact the patient, and define two or more channels from which ECG signals are sensed. A processor may evaluate the channels by analyzing their respective ECG signals, to determine which contains less noise than the other(s). The analysis can be by extracting statistics from the ECG signals, optionally after first processing them, and then by comparing these statistics. These statistics may include tall peak counts, amplitudes of peaks compared to historical peak amplitudes, signal baseline shift, dwell time near a baseline, narrow peak counts, zero crossings counts, determined heart rates, and so on. Once the less noisy signal is identified, its channel can be followed preferentially or to the exclusion of other channels, for continuing monitoring and/or determining whether to shock the patient.

Abstract: Systems and methods for resolving catheter rendering issues are provided. A system includes a catheter including a plurality of electrodes and a plurality of catheter pins, each catheter pin corresponding to an associated electrode. The system further includes a mapping system communicatively coupled to the catheter, the mapping system including a pin box including a plurality of sockets, a display device configured to render the catheter, and an electronic control unit (ECU). The ECU is configured to determine that the catheter is being rendered incorrectly on the display device, determine a number of electrodes that are being rendered incorrectly on the display device, identify at least one particular electrode of the plurality of electrodes that is being rendered incorrectly on the display device, and attempt to resolve the incorrect rendering of the catheter based on the determined number of electrodes and the at least one particular electrode.

Abstract: A first calculation unit calculates the heart rate of a subject from a plurality of instantaneous heart rates by averaging processing with an IIR filter using a first coefficient. Note that the first coefficient is a numerical value less than 1, and is a fixed value. A second calculation unit calculates the heart rate of the subject from the plurality of instantaneous heart rates by averaging processing with an IIR filter using a second coefficient. The second coefficient is a numerical value less than 1, and is a variable value. A switching unit switches between the first calculation unit and the second calculation unit based on a difference between the precedingly calculated heart rate and a latest instantaneous heart rate.

Abstract: According to at least one example, an ambulatory medical device is provided. The device includes a plurality of electrodes disposed at spaced apart positions about a patient's body and a control unit. The control unit includes a sensor interface, a memory and a processor. The sensor interface is coupled to the plurality of electrodes and configured to receive a first ECG signal from a first pairing of the plurality of electrodes and to receive a second ECG signal from a second pairing of the plurality of electrodes. The memory stores information indicating a preferred pairing, the preferred pairing being either the first pairing or the second pairing. The processor is coupled to the sensor interface and the memory and is configured to resolve conflicts between interpretations of first ECG signal and the second ECG signal in favor of the preferred pairing.
