摘要: Methods, apparatuses, and embodiments related to a technique for controlling channel usage in a wireless network in a multi-band wireless networking system. In a wireless network with multiple wireless networking devices and one or more client devices, communications between the wireless networking devices occurs via a backhaul channel, and communication between the client(s) and the wireless networking devices occurs via a fronthaul channel. Based on interference characteristics of the wireless channels, a device determines a channel usage plan, and communicates the plan via the backhaul channel to the wireless networking devices of the wireless network.

摘要: A passive cooling device is disclosed for use with a speaker integrated electronic device. Also disclosed is a method of using the device for generating passive cooling and increasing the sound output by the speaker integrated electronic device when outputting low frequency sound. The electronic device has an internal housing in which the speaker is located with a diaphragm extending through a void in the housing wall. The internal housing also has an air flow channel in fluid communication with the housing interior and an outlet adjacent an electronic component. Movement of the diaphragm directs moving air through the channel to reduce the operating temperature of the electronic component during speaker activation, while air movement in the internal housing increase the sound output by the speaker integrated electronic device.

摘要: An access point is configured to communicate with a wireless client device over a plurality of wireless communication channels. The wireless client device has an active operation state and a standby operation state. The access point detects a property of each of a first wireless communication channel and a second wireless communication channel, and applies a policy to the detected properties to select one of the first wireless communication channel and the second wireless communication channel. While the wireless client device is in the active operation state, the access point steers the client device to communicate with the access point over the selected channel.

摘要: Techniques are disclosed for reducing power consumption on a power sensitive wireless device, such as for example a digital wireless camera operating on a battery. According to some techniques, power can be reduced when a portable device is in close proximity to the power sensitive wireless device, such as when a person is home and the recording of video on a digital wireless security camera can be disarmed. Some techniques include filtering mechanisms, which reduce unnecessary information being transmitted to the wireless network circuit of the power sensitive wireless device. Other techniques include modifying or adapting IEEE 802.11 standards to achieve power reducing results such as for example reducing the number of times to wake up to receive the beacons. Also, improved synchronization techniques are implemented such as for example improved synchronization accuracy allows reducing the duration of the wake time for receiving the beacons.

摘要: Systems and methods are introduced for managing a multi-band wireless networking system using a robust control plane. In an embodiment, multiple wireless networking devices are interconnected via a dedicated wireless backhaul to collectively form a single multi-band wireless network providing broad coverage to a client device. The multi-band wireless networking system is managed by wirelessly communicating control information between the multiple wireless networking devices over the control plane in a robust manner that guarantees delivery while minimizing latency. Example techniques for achieving this robust transfer of information include use of robust data rates, use of multiple backhaul channels, use of hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (ARQ), use of dedicated control channels, use of alternative transport protocols, and implementation of distributed router functionality.

摘要: Disclosed is a way to expand the range of Internet of Things devices in a home, office, or structure to the range of a local WiFi network. This is accomplished by generating a network bridge for the devices using machine-to-machine protocols to communicate using the WiFi network backhaul channel. Transmissions in machine-to-machine protocol are tunneled through WiFi communications and extracted by the closest access point. Access points include radios for both WiFi and machine-to-machine protocols.

摘要: Techniques are disclosed for a wireless router or residential gateway to distinguish power-sensitive wireless sensors and provide separate treatments thereto for low power consumption connections. In some embodiments, a network device includes a wireless network circuit, and control circuitry coupled to the network circuit and configured to, upon receipt of a request of connection from a client, identify whether the client is power-sensitive. The network device can further cause, if the client is identified as power-sensitive, the power-sensitive client to connect using a low-power connection while maintaining a regular connection to other regular clients. The low-power connection can be operated on a first channel different from but in a same frequency band as a second channel on which the regular connection is operated.

摘要: In a repeater, a mechanism checks multiple parameters and makes repeater bandwidth, radio configuration, and ADC clock speed adjustments. multiple repeater parameters are checked and the repeater bandwidth is optimized based upon any of adjusting bandwidth based on best throughput; adjusting bandwidth based on Internet speed; adjusting mapping based on overlapping access points (106); adjusting bandwidth based on the client's range; adjusting ADC clock speed; adjusting transmit (TX) radio setting based on associated clients; adjusting receive (RX) radio setting based on associated clients; client type considerations; and adjusting CPU settings based on clients or backhaul. In embodiments, for example, bandwidth can be adjusted from 80 MHz to 40 MHz to 20 MHz or a smaller bandwidth, e.g. 5 MHz, for an 802.11ac/11ax/11ac device. For an 802.11n/a/b/g/ah device, bandwidth can adjusted using from 40 MHz to 20 MHz to a smaller bandwidth, e.g. 1 MHz, 2 MHz, or 5 MHz.
