Abstract: A method that incorporates aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, obtaining, by a system comprising a processor, interference information associated with one or more physical resource blocks (PRBs) from each base station of a plurality of base stations. Further, the method can include determining, by the system, from the interference information a strategy for improving a PRB utilization of a first base station of the plurality of base stations. In addition, the method can include conveying, by the system, the strategy to at least one base station of the plurality of base stations. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: Described herein are techniques, devices, and systems for mitigating uplink interference in cellular communications. Layers can be mapped to sectors based on ranks of the sectors and ranks of the layers. The ranks of the sectors can be identified based on load levels associated with the sectors. The ranks of the layers can be identified based on bandwidth levels associated with the layers. A geographic area can be identified to modify layers utilized by the mobile devices latched to an identified sector, based on the mapped layers.

Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods for optimizing a mesh network by cloud computing. A cloud network controller may receive from multiple access points (APs) in a mesh network information related to channel quality based on measurements taken by the APs. Based on this information, the cloud network controller may forecast one or more optimal channels based on the information related to channel quality. The cloud network controller my then send to the multiple APs a message including a recommendation to switch to the one or more optimal channels based on the forecasting. The AP may then make a decision to carry out the recommended channel switch.

Abstract: A system that incorporates aspects of the subject disclosure may perform operations including, for example, obtaining uplink information associated with a plurality of communication devices transmitting wireless signals on a plurality of uplink paths, performing, based on the uplink information, a plurality of measurements of the plurality of uplink paths, identifying a measurement from the plurality of measurements that is below a threshold, and initiating a corrective action to improve a measurement of an affected uplink path of the plurality of uplink paths based on the identifying. Abstract: A network for providing air-to-ground (ATG) wireless communication in various cells may include a receiver station disposed on an aircraft in flight, a plurality of base stations, each base station defining a corresponding radiation pattern such that the base stations are spaced apart from each other to define at least partially overlapping coverage areas, and a control module in communication with at least one of the base stations. The control module may be configured to receive information indicative of an altitude of the aircraft and select a frequency for communication between the at least one of the base stations and the receiver station based on the altitude.

Abstract: A system that incorporates aspects of the subject disclosure may perform operations including, for example, a method of identifying, by a system comprising a processor, network communication degradation in one or more layers of a multi-layered communication protocol above a physical layer, wherein the network communication degradation is associated with communications taking place through a network, in part over a radio frequency link, between a plurality of communication devices, obtaining, by the system, data from a layer below the one or more layers of the multi-layered communication protocol identified as having the network communication degradation, determining, by the system, one or more geographic regions of the network associated with the network communication degradation from the data, and mitigating, by the system, effects of the network communication degradation in the one or more geographic regions of the network. Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure implement techniques of a new 3D waveform coding scheme that leverages the spatial properties of 5G NR systems. Specifically, in 5G systems, each UE location may be characterized by three parameters: propagation delay (tp), angle of elevation (θ), and angle of azimuth (φ). Global coding matrix may be generated by linear combination of these three attributes and a unique lattice code may be generated for each UE at different locations from the base station. Thus, considering the coding gain increases with increasing the distance between the codes, aspects of the present disclosure take advantage of geometrical properties of lattice. Particularly, within the 3D waveform coding, if lattice distance between co-beamed UEs is determined to be greater than threshold radius, a conjugate lattice code for the UEs may be applied in accordance with aspects of the present disclosure.

Abstract: A method that incorporates aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, receiving digital data via a plurality of fiber optic cables, wherein the digital data represents a plurality of radio frequency signals received at a plurality of remote radio units via a plurality of uplink paths, wherein the first virtual processing system is configured to mitigate interference detected in one or more of the plurality of uplink paths, performing a plurality of measurements of the digital data to identify an interference condition associated with at least a portion of the plurality of uplink paths associated with the plurality of remote radio units; and providing updated digital data, according to the interference condition that is identified, to a second virtual processing system including at least one second virtual processor, wherein the second virtual processing system is configured to operate as one or more baseband units for providing cellular communication services.
