摘要： In the particular embodiments described in the specification, a liquid electrophotographic developing arrangement includes four developing units disposed adjacent to the image-bearing surface of an electrophotographic member, each developing unit containing a different color developer. Each developing unit has an elongated slit through which developer is applied to the image-bearing surface of the electrophotographic member and the liquid developer is magnetically retained in the space between the developing unit and the surface of the electrophotographic member. In one embodiment, the developer is retained by a ferrofluid which surrounds the elongated opening and is held in position by magnets disposed on opposite sides of the electrophotographic member. In another embodiment, the developer is a ferrofluid and is retained in position by magnets on opposite sides of the elongated opening which produce an electromagnetic field in the space between the elongated opening and the surface of the electrostatic member.

摘要： A vehicle theft prevention system switches an engine from an immobilized state to a mobilized state when an ID code received from a mobile device carried by a user matches an ID code registered in advance, and keeps the engine in the immobilized state when the ID code received from the mobile device does not match the ID code registered in advance. Further, when a disable command is received from the center and it is detected that the vehicle is in an unused state based on a state of a predetermined signal indicative of states of the vehicle, the system immobilizes :he engine and prevents the engine from being switched from the established immobilized state to a mobilized state even if the ID code included in the signal received from the mobile device matches the ID code registered in advance by invalidating the ID code of the mobile device.

摘要： In an intrusion detection device of the embodiment, a determining unit allows a transmission unit to stop transmitting ultrasonic waves until a level of a Doppler signal exceeds a predetermined threshold (threshold for detecting destruction of a window glass), and allows the transmission unit to transmit the ultrasonic waves when the level of the Doppler signal exceeds said threshold. Therefore, if the destruction of the window glass is not detected, it is possible to reduce power consumption through allowing the transmission unit to stop the transmission. Further, because processing for detecting intrusion is performed after the destruction of the window glass has been detected, it is possible to reduce erroneous detection of an intruder resulting from a movement of an object (e.g., falling of papers, a sunshade, or the like that is leaned against the interior wall) other than a human.
