摘要: The present disclosure relates generally to a method to make a chemically prepared toner that employs a crash cooling process. In the crash cooling process, an amount of hot toner slurry is added to an external reactor holding an amount of chilled cooling water, wherein the temperature of the chilled cooling water in the external reactor is from about 8° C. to about 25° C. The amount of the chilled cooling water in the external reactor is about 10% to about 40% lower compared to the amount of the added hot toner slurry. Toner prepared using this crash cooling method is cooled at a rate of less than 0.8° C./min. Polyester toners and polyester core shell toners having a borax coupling agent between the toner core and toner shell made from this crash cooling processes using less water results in an improvement to the toner's print density and usage efficiency.

摘要: An image forming apparatus includes a developing member, a developer supply unit, a pulsating pump, and a correction unit. The developing member is to be supplied with a liquid developer from a supply member and is configured to develop an electrostatic latent image formed on an image carrier. The developer supply unit forms a closed space together with the supply member. The closed space stores the liquid developer. The pulsating pump is configured to feed the liquid developer to the closed space at a predetermined reference flow rate. The correction unit is configured to make a correction to achieve increase or decrease with respect to the reference flow rate according to presence or absence of image information used for forming the electrostatic latent image, in units of a predetermined processing length in a process direction intersecting a development width on the image carrier.

摘要: A developing section for a digital printing press includes a controller to control a development unit such that a configuration of the development unit is to be in a first state or a second state based on a determination by the controller comparing a location of a portion of the surface of a photo imaging member presented to the development unit with a location of a transition between an image portion and a portion of the surface of the photo imaging member not in the image portion.

摘要: Herein is disclosed a method of electrostatic printing. The method may include forming a latent electrostatic image on a surface and transferring a first volume of a charged toner to the latent electrostatic image on the surface. The method may also include transferring a second volume of a charged toner to the surface, such that a toner image comprising the first volume of charged toner and the second volume of charged toner is formed on the surface, the second volume of charged toner being disposed on the first volume of charged toner. The method may also include transferring the image to a print substrate.

摘要: Apparatus is described which, in use, applies a thin film of a wetting agent, such as water or a water-based solution, onto paper or other print medium before applying a liquid toner. The wetting agent is applied at a predetermined distance from an image transfer area. The wetting agent acts to promote adhesion of the liquid toner to the print medium. The adhesion of the liquid toner to the print medium is further improved by supplying the wetting agent at a temperature higher than room temperature.
