Abstract: A printed structure, and systems and methods for creating the printed structure are disclosed. The printed structure includes a substrate, a first printed image layer, and a second printed image layer printed at least partially over the first printed image layer. The first printed image layer includes a first variable image printed using a first electrophoretic ink and the second printed image layer includes a second variable image printed using a second electrophoretic ink. The first variable image and the second variable image are configured to selectively change their display states upon application of an electric field.

Abstract: Described herein is a method of producing a perovskite material on a substrate by LEP printing comprising: printing a composition comprising a salt AX and a resin in a carrier liquid; printing a composition comprising a salt selected from BX2 and in BX4 and a resin in a carrier liquid; and heat treating the printed compositions; or printing a composition comprising a material with a perovskite structure and a resin in a carrier liquid; wherein the resin comprises a copolymer of an alkylene monomer and a monomer having acidic side groups; and/or a copolymer of an alkylene monomer and an ethylenically unsaturated monomer comprising an epoxide; and/or a copolymer of an alkylene monomer, an ethylenically unsaturated monomer comprising an epoxide, and a monomer selected from a monomer having acidic side groups, a monomer having ester side groups and a mixture thereof. Also described is an ink set and a printed substrate.

Abstract: A method of enhancing adhesion of an image to at least one surface of a substrate is provided herein. The method includes treating at least a portion of the surface by applying a composition comprising one or more polymers to the portion of the surface. The method further includes drying the composition after applying the composition to the substrate to form a treated substrate. The method further includes printing an image from an electrophotographic printer utilizing liquid toner technology on the treated substrate. The substrate is treated and dried less than about 5 minutes prior to being printed.

Abstract: A calculating portion 300 acquires resistance of a carrier liquid in a carrier tank. A resistance calculating portion 302 acquires the resistance of the carrier liquid on the basis of a “liquid amount of a carrier liquid for each of numbers of times of passing of the carrier liquid through a separation and extraction device” and “resistance of the carrier liquid for each of the numbers of times of passing of the carrier liquid through the separation and extraction device”. The “liquid amount of a carrier liquid for each of numbers of time of passing” is calculated by a deterioration degree distribution calculating portion 301 and is stored in a memory 201. As regards the “resistance of the carrier liquid for each of the numbers of times of passing”, the resistance of the carrier liquid after passing through the separation and extraction device is stored in the memory 201 in advance for each of the numbers of times of passing. A carrier supply discriminating portion 202 discriminates whether or not a carrier liquid for supply should be supplied, on the basis of the acquired resistance of the carrier liquid. A controller 200 controls a pump 51 for supply on the basis of this discrimination.
