摘要: This invention discloses broad bandwidth optical fibers which have a broad bandwidth suitable for data-communication, are free from fiber cracking or chipping if a crimp-type connector is attached with sufficient pulling resistant force to hold the fiber firmly, minimize the connection loss through a small crimping optical loss and a accurate axial alignment, facilitate connection with existing GI quartz optical fibers, which have a fiber diameter of 125 .mu.m, and offer excellent compatibility with such existing GI quartz optical fibers. Broad bandwidth optical fibers pertaining to this invention are graded index broad bandwidth optical fibers fabricated from a core made of quartz-based glass with a graded refractive index profile, a quartz glass cladding provided over said core, and polymer covering layer provided over said cladding, with said polymer covering layer made of a UV-cured hard polymer with a Shore hardness of D 55 or more and a thickness of 5 .mu.m or more. Jacketed optical fiber units are then produced by providing a primary coating over an optical fiber and a secondary coating over a primary-coated optical fiber or fibers. Finally optical fiber cords are produced by providing a polymer sheath around a jacketed optical fiber unit.

摘要: Disclosed is an inverter having improved power conversion efficiency. The inverter (200) converts direct current power supplied from a plurality of direct current power supplies (V1, V2) having different voltages into alternating current power. The inverter (200) is provided with a control unit (20). The control unit (20) generates modified sine waves using a power supply voltage (E1) of the power supplied from the first direct current power supply (V1), a power supply voltage (E2) of the power supplied from the second direct current power supply (V2), and a potential difference (E1−E2) between the two power supply voltages. The control unit (20) generates the modified sine waves by controlling H bridge circuits provided for the direct current power supplies (V1, V2), respectively.

摘要: An object of the present invention is to maintain a predetermined positional relationship between an outer pin holder and a housing in a speed reducer section B, to prevent damage to such components as revolving members, outer circumferential engagers, and motion conversion mechanism upon a large axial load due to turning or sudden acceleration/deceleration, and to eliminate rattling noise caused by a housing and the outer pin holder. An elastic member is disposed on one or both axial end surfaces of the outer pin holder, between the outer pin holder and the housing. As a result, even if there is an axial load exerted on the outer pin holder, the outer pin holder is always held at a predetermined position by restoring force from the elastic member(s), in a proper positional relationship with the housing.

摘要: A method for evaluating thermal plasticity of coals and caking additives includes packing a coal or a caking additive into a vessel to prepare a sample 1; arranging a through-hole material 2 having through-holes from top to bottom surfaces, onto the sample 1; heating the sample 1 at a predetermined heating rate while maintaining a constant volume of or while applying a constant load onto the sample 1 and the through-hole material 2; measuring the permeation distance with which the molten sample has permeated into the through-holes; and evaluating thermal plasticity of the sample using the measured value. Alternatively, a method involves heating the sample 1 at a predetermined heating rate while maintaining the sample 1 and the through-hole material 2 in a constant volume; measuring the pressure of the sample that is transmitted via the through-hole material 2; and evaluating thermal plasticity of the sample using the measured value.

摘要: In a valve-equipped hand switch and a chemical liquid introduction system, a contrast medium in a syringe is delivered to a patient line through a first port, a main passage around a spacer portion, and a second port. Furthermore, a pressure (about 300 psi) of the contrast medium delivered by a chemical liquid introduction device is transmitted as a reaction force through a third plunger from a handle portion of an operation piston held by an operator. As such, the operator can directly feel the pressure of the introduced contrast medium, which gives a sense of ease to the operator during operation.

摘要: A ligating apparatus including a thread receiving portion movably disposed at a distal end of an inserting part body. An outer circumference of the thread receiving portion forms the loop holding portion around which a knot forming loop formed from a ligature is disposed. When a first end of the ligature is pulled into the thread receiving portion, the knot forming loop is pushed out of the loop holding portion by a delivery portion of the knot pusher. The knot forming loop is further pushed by the delivery portion along the ligature toward tissue and ligated. Such ligating apparatus is capable of reducing a load on the tissue to be ligated during a ligating operation.
